THE LEFT IS RIGHT...FOR THE WRONG REASONS
I agree that its LONG PAST TIME for Bush to get out front and lead on this. And this latest White House orchestrated and staged campaign is the WRONG WAY TO DO THIS.
Nothing less than a prime time address where he can talk over the heads of the MSM a la Reagan followed up by a campaign style road trip visiting military bases to highlight his and our support for the soldiers will work.

I agree with everything you say. The point I was trying to make is that I think the President and the rest of us should be promoting the idea of service. Not because of any "crisis" in recruiting but because our country needs committed young people to join the military.

All I can say is that if you've done nothing else in your life, you've raised two outstanding kids - ones that everyone can be proud of.
Good luck to them...and to you.

Excuse me, but how stupid is it to actually believe that your fellow Americans are "Jumping up and down while crying, “let me have a war†like a spoiled brat without boundaries..."?
One could argue that not seeing the necessity for this war makes you the stupid one.

WHAT'S TO BE DONE WITH DURBIN?
I agree with every issue you raised.
The problem is, what is possible? I would guess there's a bigger chance that Osama Bin Laden will address the Senate than that body censure Dick Durbin - or any other member for that matter - for what they say on the Senate floor.
It's not necessarily "free speech." It's a matter of tradition. And Senators are gluttons for tradition.

DURBIN AND THE DEMS: SLOUCHING TOWARD THE PRECIPICE
The last two comments confirm something I've suspected for a while; the dems think there is no enemy. That, in fact, the enemy is the republicans.
24 hours in one's own waste is 36 hours less than these people are trained to endure according to information in the al Qaeda training manual captured in England. Is it unpleasant? Yes, so is spinach. Eating spinach is not torture.
The bottom line is that the only people who are saying this is torture are people who wish the enemy to win. Extra-territorial, stateless terrorists do not fall under the Geneval convention. The fact that they're forced to endure a little discomfort (not torture) and are subsequently defended by the 2nd highest ranking dem in the Senate says all that's necessary about the priorities of the left in this country.
And you wonder why people accuse you of giving aid and comfort to the enemy?

Thanks for pointing out the error.
Give her two years on the stump. Remember how wooden George Bush was? And the swing states I mentioned are in fact trending demographically toward the Dems. Large increases in Hispanic population in CO and FL as well as smaller increase in OH and VA. As the DC metro area continues to expand, Dems will build up huge margin in Northern VA that's getting harder and harder for Rep. to overcome. The tipping point may come in '08.
You're correct in pointing out her minuses. It's just that she's gonna have more money than God and the terrorism issue will seem like a distant memory.

"Bush has lost the war"?????
Your wishful thinking is laughable. No, really it's a stitch. I've been lurking at both Kos and DU over the last few days and to watch the pathetic hopefullness emenating from the moonbats that FINALLY...WE"RE REALLY GOING TO LOSE THE WAR...and to actually be celebrating that notion shows that you and your ilk are exactly as I describe you; traitorous wretches. Your hatred for the President has driven you to hope that America will be defeated.
Good thing you and your ilk were'nt around 60 years ago. We'd be speaking German.
