Good guess..except for a couple of things.
First, I don't know if you can control an Air to air missile so precisely as just "nick" another plane.
Second, if going after the football is going to be the ultimate plan, I may stop watching it. That's just simply ludicrous. They can change the codes to make that thing just a worthless briefcase.
I saw the previews and I hope that's NOT what it is.

Actually, I think that Chloe has always demonstrated a certain sensitivity...last year she didn't turn Jack in when she caught him shooting up. It's just that, as I said last week, she has the interpersonal skills of a tree sloth.
And yeah...I've heard that Palmer has a role...can't imagine what.

Didn't they decipher that document and come up with the name Yosef Habeeb...the guy that Dina and Jack payed a visit to get to Marwan with Dina pretending that Jack was a hostage? I think so.
But what you mention IS an annoying habit of the writers. Sometimes they think no one is paying attention.

The radar profile of the Stealth, as I understand it, is virtually nil. The fighters certainly would not be able to see it. And ground radar would need to know not only it's general direction but altitude as well.

The greenies took a slightly different tack with Cassini because that spacecraft took an indirect route to Saturn by first going to Venus for a gravity assist, then back to earth for another gravity assist maneuver and then on to Saturn.
There was a slightly heightened risk because the craft would swing very closely by the earth.
NASA's Environmental Impact Statement was a load of crap and the greenies knew it. They jumped all over it. That's why I theorize that this one might be a little better science wise.
