IS THERE ANY WAY SARAH PALIN CAN RECOVER?
Whatever people say about the 'hit' job of the Couric interview. That is how I was introduced to her. I liked some of her political opinions and also her looks but after that interview I just thought 'No way'. Nothing much has changed since and I just hope folks on our side come to their senses and support a stronger candidate.

the Russians lost more than 30 million in WWII. The United States around 500,000 in both Europe and the Pacific. Go to any cemetery in Germany and you'll see that most soldiers died on the Volga or Don. So they didn't just 'play a major role'. It's also true that Stalin didn't give a rat's ass about his own people or anyone else but that doesn't diminish the sacrifice of the Russian people.
OBAMA'S "CHALLENGER MOMENT" AT FORT HOOD
for some people even giving credit to where credit is due is already too much. A president's job includes giving staged performances (a telepromter, so what?). What goes on in anyone's heart I frankly don't know (have difficulty interpreting my own at times).

A RELATIVELY SHORT FOLLOWUP TO MY PJ MEDIA ARTICLE ON BI-PARTISANSHIP
Most people are more in love with their 'stance' than with their country. Vanity comes to mind. They will always be at least two opposing views but the most important quality any society needs to possess is the ability of self-criticism. That is what sets most Western countries apart from let's say Middle Eastern countries. There it is always bad Israel, bad United States etc. As you can see at HA or DailyKos it also is a popular stance in this country. I just try to ignore zealots from both sides. Life is too short and there are real problems to be solved.

THE HOPELESS BANALITY OF THE BLOGOSPHERE
I feel we should sympathize and mourn with the family and friends of the victim's first. That is our duty as a nation. Then we turn our attention to his motives. I just feel a lot of people are so partisan all they care about is political implications. That's tasteless and thanks for the excellent article.

are you now the officially elected gatekeeper. Can't remember I voted. BTW, the crazies go to DailyKos or HA.
I think the election went well for 'rational' conservatives. NY23 sent a message that it's not all about Palin etc. so in that sense I'm optimistic about 2010. That is if Glen Beck doesn't stick to his third party nonsense.

even though I'm not Jerry I don't understand your question. Of course I would support our candidate but hope it is someone reasonable. Not someone like Sarah Palin.

I don't accuse purist of being purist just being intellectually lazy. If you want a good example of this go to HA. We can and should have different opinions, strategies etc but I'm just tired of this HA bs.

if you have time look up articles from the 80s where people attack Reagan for 'selling out' the conservative cause. Good points you make.
