GLENN GREENWALD IS A PATHOLOGICAL LIAR

Those who advocate for 'american' interest in fulfilling Bernard Lewis' warning that we are harmless to enemies and fatal to our friends, would do VERY well to consider that until recently Israel enjoyed a successful strategic relationship with Communist China (as an example of the law of unintended consequences). Just take a look at the J-10. Only american pressure stopped Israel from placing its Phalcon AEW system on Chinese IL-76's. Were we to abandon Israel, american and allied pilots, seamen and tankers might, over beside and under the strait of Taiwan find themselves facing Israeli technology inside Chinese AEW, fighters, submarines and tanks, and Israeli anti missile technology attempting to defeat our smart weapons, as Israel makes other arrangements in their fight to survive, despite another nation's abandonment of the jews. Not to mention their 2-600 nukes.

How such a situation would advance our interests or make life better for us, is beyond me.

And for what? A stable price for dead dinosaurs this week?

MUSHARRAF AND PAKISTAN SLIPPING TOWARD DISASTER

btw another semi notable Baluchis...Khalid Sheikh Muhammad and his nephew, Ramzi Yousef.

The cooperation of Pakistan in the formation of the Islamic Emirate of Waziristan is a huge event, little emphasized in the MSM, and represents a significant defeat for the security of the american people.

Failed states and all they mean for salafi and khomeinist freaks, and what they want to do to us, lie ahead.

Bush is failing and the dems are worse.

RANDOM THOUGHTS ON IRAN: HOW ABOUT A QUID PRO QUO?

Now that's a good idea...BUT - it presupposes that the real goal of Iran is not to be overthrown.

It is other.
As they insisted again this morning.

Since 1979 they have been saying just one thing.
I do the the respect of taking them seriously
They believe. They have faith. I take that seriously.

If the foreign policy objective of Iran is to destroy Israel, and Hassan Abbassi (Iran's "kissinger") is correct about the west producing risk averse men and societies, what good is promising them we won't invade them? It will give them the security they need to push their goals even further, and solidify to them the objective truth of their foerign policy theories about the USA.

Now we an have the 'so they destroy Israel, so what'? discussion. But the best way to do that may be to hurt us badly, and force us to withdraw support ...it shouldn't be too hard to imagine such a scenario if you believe we won't risk Harrisburg for Tel Aviv.

DISHEARTENING WORDS FROM BILL KRISTOL

No one is suggesting an IRaq type operation in Iran. I would think we have a bad now worse late situation, in which we simply by virtue of raw firepower take out the weapons sites, and the mullahs, and repeat as required. If the Iranians themselves wish to make a new govt better, good for them.
Either way, we can expect them to attack us here.
It's time for the William Sherman Insititute of Foreign Policy

" Every attempt to make war easy and safe will result in humiliation and disaster. "

"If the people raise a great howl against my barbarity and cruelty, I will answer that war is war, and not popularity seeking. "

It should be crystal clear by now, that nothing but brute force will make any difference in stopping the Iranians.
Nothing.
Nothing will deter those people from use, at the earliest opportunity.

We need to do WHATEVER IT TAKES.
No limit.
That is the essence of Bill Kristol's position.

POLITICS AND IMMIGRATION REFORM

You are missing one huge point and hitting another.

Those who arrive here illegally aren't immigrants. They are CRIMINALS.

Immigration is what made america great. We need it to keep america a vibrant, competitive place. Criminals who break and enter into the USA cannot do this.

Arrest the lot. Grind the numbers down over years.
Those who hire these criminals are felons. Jail them. The CEO, CFO's are responsble. Just as they are to stockholders. Jail them. If some upper middle class family wants to save a few coins by hiring an illegal, they are supporting a vast criminal empire in doing so. It's a felonious crime, IMHO.

Change the immigration laws and MAKE MORE AMERICANS, not more criminals. We need more americans in this manner, not those who be definition as you point out cannot do so, and form necessarily damaging and limiting associations.

Guest worker advocates ought to check out the state of the Marshall Islands

THE $64,000 QUESTION IS ANSWERED

There's nothing to discuss. The Russians are not only not allies, but we can PLAN SECURELY around the fact that they oppose those actions which will increase the safety of the american people.

We know what they are going to do.

The Russians have decided that such actions will not be in their interests as matter of course.

OK fine.

So why has our ambassador not been recalled? That's minimal.
