SHEEHAN: I AM THE WALRUS

Jack, it's just like you leftist nitwits to try to focus the argument around a strawman that has limit if any relevence in todays political picture. Who really except you gives a crap what Eisenhower is alleged to say 50 years ago or more. That has absolutely nothing to do with the Islamic threat we are currently faced with. If you think things are so bad here, try living in a country controlled by the Moslems.

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

You said you wanted organizations or people but to me the real clueless are those that voted for John Kerry in the last presidential election. I find that particularly scary because there were so many. I also think that a lot of the Kerry voters are those who get their news only from the major TV networks and major newspapers.
My second choice would be that media who were leading the Bush bashing with false accusations and are still doing so.

BAINBRIDGE: A THOUGHTFUL BUT FLAWED CRITIQUE OF THE WAR

I've come into this debate too late to catch all of the argument but here are my views.
First and least important, I am not impressed by anyone who is addressed as professor and has a phd (pile higher and deeper) after their name. 99.9 percent of those called professors are leftist liberals anyway.
Second and most important is (and I at least partial agree with Beth) that Iraq and Afghanistan are the first phase against this war against terrorism (Islam). People, this current war is just the continuation of the Crusades which begin in the eleventh century and regardless of the Catholic bashing was a war for supremacy between Christian Europe and Islam mideast!! Today the Islamic movement has money, people and has widely infiltrated most Christian based societies primarily due to loose immigration policies and multi-culturism and despite their recent setbacks, the Moslems think that they are winning. So how can one expect an end to a battle that has been raging off and on for a thousand years or more. We have no choice but to take the war to the enemy where ever they reside and they reside almost everywhere so it probably doesn't matter much if Iran is next or not. The presence of nuclear weapons may be the deciding factor of who is invaded next but remember that Pakistan already has them. Hunker down, folks, the war won't be over for a long time and it won't matter much who is president after we are nuked.

BANNING INDIAN MASCOTS AND OTHER STUPID IDEAS

RE: BANNING INDIAN MASCOTS AND OTHER STUPID IDEAS

For the NCAA pc has taken a turn further to the left. I smell the ugly stink of the ACLU in this ban. I wonder if the NCAA is being advised or pressured by them.

THE MARYHUNTER WEIGHS IN ON ID

As an engineer, scientist and Christian, I see no incompatibility between science and my religion. Note I said science and not evolution. Evolution is an unproven theory at the level that the evolutionist uses it to account for all living things. Curiously, unfettered belief in the absoluteness of evolution elevates it to the positon of a god.

A PERSONAL TIPPING POINT

God, you people, don't you know war is hell!! Don't you know that there has never been a war where the prisoners have not been mistreated by both sides? Have you ever heard of the Bataan death march? In fact the general rule of the Japanese was to mistreat all of their prisoners.

Typically, non-military prisoners are considered spies or renagades (terrorists). The treatment of these prisoners has always been the worst. After interrogation which almost always include some measure of torture they were usually executed by hanging or firing squad.

So quite beating your breasts and being apologetic for the so-called mistreatment of these rabid dog terrorists. In my opinion, they do not deserve any sympathy what so ever.

IS NASA OBSOLETE?

Perhaps the 3 main concerns for space are 1) the problems of escaping the earths gravity well (one solution is the space elevator 2) human life support (solved if only robots are used) and 3) space vehicle propulsion (need something other that the current solid or liquid highly expendable fuels). Rentry is also a concern but is a collary of escape. New ideas are desperately needed and are not likely to progress very rapidly under NASA's space monopoly.
