A SHORT BUT PITHY NOTE ON ACHIEVING THE RIPE OLD AGE OF 54
Happy Birthday, Rick! I too was born in '54, although in March. My body is slowly and not so subtly reminding me that I am closer to taking the eternal dirt nap each day. Eyesight going bad, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol just ain't a whole lot of fun. But we all have to do what we have to do to survive, especially in these Chicagoland winters! So, relax, go grab some old family photo albums, and remember life as it used to be in the 60's and 70's. Bad hair, leisure suits and no microwave ovens.

As for me, I keep the dream alive. Fred gives the Keynote speech at the deadlocked and brokered convention and lights the place up with a fire and brimstone, rock-solid, conservative speech! He's nominated, breathes fire at the Dem Candidate, and wins the General Election by a landslide!
Please don't wake me up until after November.

FRED ON THE MOVE IN SC: IS IT ENOUGH?
I'm one of those Evangelicals that everybody says in rooting for Huckabee...NOT! That guy is no conservative, and I think most conservatives see that pretty clearly. I have been for Fred! since I first heard he might run. I hope he does well in SC.
The biggest help Fred! could get would be an endorsement from El-Rushbo and Rush keeps saying he doesn't endorse candidates in primary elections. I would hate to see Fred's campaign go down in flames while Rush whistles on the sidelines.

I've had a Fred Thompson bumper sticker on my car since June. He is the only true conservative running (Duncan Hunter, my apologies to you, but you just don't stand a chance) that sounds like a Reagan Republican. I have been waiting for the real Fred to show up at one of these debates and speak his mind. He finally did.
