THOSE WHO LIVE BY IDENTITY POLITICS...

There's only one word to describe this:

Schadenfreude

THE DEMOCRATS IN A NUTSHELL

I agree with you Rick about the Democrats, but don't forget that our "compassionate conservative" president sounds a lot like Hillary Clinton on this whole mess.

BLOGBURST FOR FRED - AN UPDATE

Thanks, Rick, for all you are doing to support Fred Thompson. I believe in Fred, and your enthusiasm encouraged me to donate again.

DEBATE IN SOUTH CAROLINA REVEALS GOP SCHISMS

God, I enjoyed the smackdown Thompson gave to Huckabee on his true liberal agenda. It's about time someone put that sheep in wolf's clothing in his place! Oh, happy day!

FACING UP TO THE UNBEARABLE TRUTH

As a Christian conservative, I get a knot in my stomach at the thought of Mike Huckabee as POTUS. I get the same knot in my stomach with an Obama presidency. Both of these guys are the textbook definition of naive boobs when it comes to foreign policy. My God, have we forgotten some of Obama's answers to questions concerning nutjob dictators!! Here we are at war with radical islam, and two Jimmy Carter wannabees got the nod in the first caucus. It is stunning and extremely NAUSEATING! Not only do we need God to save us from radical Islam, but we also need Him to save us from the evangelicals.

HUCKALIAR CHANNELS LUCIFER FOR AD PLOY

This whole business with the ad and the reporters reminds me of Paul's admonition to the Corinthians to watch out for "phonies who have fooled you into thinking they are Christ's apostles... Satan can change himself into an angel of light, so it is no wonder his servants can do it too, and seem like godly ministers. In the end they will get every bit of punishment their wicked deeds deserve."

Huckabee may have been a very good and godly Baptist minister at one time, but politics persuades good people to do bad things.

THOMPSON PUNISHED FOR BREAKING THE MOLD

What I see in Fred Thompson is a man who is not driven by the need to attain power. Of all the candidates, he is the least narcissitic. He comes off to me as the most genuine, even more than Obama. I think Obama's knighting by the media convinced him that he was worthy of being the next POTUS. In otherwords, all the fawning went to his head. I don't get that with Fred Thompson. The pressure from conservatives to get into the race and all the praise didn't go to his head. I don't think he looks at himself as some kind of savior like Obama does. And isn't that what we conservatives want in a president? Someone who believes in self reliance and personal responsibility when it comes to most domestic issues. The president is not meant to be your savior in anything except national security, right?

STOP THE HUCKABOOM

I am one of your Christian right friends, and there is NO way that I would ever vote for Huckabee!! In many ways, he's the second coming of George Bush. The last thing we need is another compassionate conservative in the White House.

Although I believe having Christian moral values and not just talking the talk but walking the walk is a big plus for me when voting for president, it is not the most important thing. I'd vote for Mitt or Rudy before I'd vote for someone like Huckabee.

MY FAVORITE DAY OF THE YEAR

I live in Maryland, and as much as I despise winter, I have no desire to move south. I know I would miss the sweet expectations of spring. I love the change of seasons. As special as the sights, sounds and scents of spring are, fall's are just as wonderful!

Yesterday, we did some yard work and then I sat out on the deck and read a book savoring every minute of the light and warmth of the sun on my face. Praise God! It was awesome!

ARKIN: IF AT FIRST YOU DON'T SUCCEED...

"Note that Arkin still makes no attempt to answer the question of how one can support the troops without supporting the war."

It's like what Whoopi Goldberg said the other night on O'Reilly when discussing her opposition to the war. Something like: I don't have to explain myself. It comes from my heart.

I guess that's where Arkin is coming from too. He doesn't have to explain himself because it's all about feelings over facts. It's just a feeling he has and he doesn't have to explain it to anyone. GET IT NOW, RICK!
