Start with the premise it's much easier to forge and spoof emails and IMs than it is to forge Texas Air National Guard documents ... That's why there are trusted computers and trusted OSes with all the attendant security checks, ACLs, and physical access controls. How else can you tell who was actually sitting at the terminal typing when the text was generated.
The problem with emails and IMs is that without the complete header information you have nothing but someone typing on a piece of paper. You need originals. Then you need to check if the headers are correct and not spoofs, a time consuming demanding process. But then it only tells you what computers were used not whose hands were on the computers. You cannot assume anything about who actually typed the email or IMs. I remain suspicious that any of the facts disclosed so far would hold up to that scrutiny.
Obviously Foley was up to something bad with pages, so he left, but the who knew what when is quite a different matter. without facts, and original copies with complete headers, we have nothing of value, just one huge pointless argument.
Smells like a dirty trick to me, to sack Hastert, just like the left did with Newt.

The real problem is this film destroys the Democrat narrative of lies they planned on running on. The last stone in the wall of lies came out today when the Democrats wrote an addendum to the Senate report and are now trying to sell it to the parrot media as if it were the final conclusions of the report.
BTW: The Senate reports conclusions are nothing but years old news repackaged and trotted out for effect. The effect is going to be to show how stupid they think the public is. Read Senator Rockefeller's speech on the Senate floor right before the war. Rocky is the only one to say that Iraq was an imminent threat, and that he saw them getting nukes real soon. Not Bush, not Cheney, but Senator Rockefeller.

By now we should see the strategy ... Lebanon -- Nasrallah, Iraq -- al Sadr, and now Pakistan -- Taliban. This is a trend that needs to be stopped before it consumes these countries.
Iran's fingerprints are all over this strategy. I wonder if Jimmuh dum de dum Carter talked to Khatami about it?
It is way past time that we recognize the war is on and do something about it. A nuke going off in an American city will not be a pleasant experience -- Neither will the response.

REDEFINING THE ALREADY DEFINED
Several years ago, I read the book "Chickenhawk" by Robert Mason, a helicopter pilot who flew in Vietnam. It was a nickname the pilots gave themselves to distinguish them from the hunter/killer teams. The chickenhawks flew insertions, extractions, and medevacs, lots of it under fire. Fascinating book and I'd recommend it to anyone.

I think it is a bit pollyanna-ish of you to think that the UN can be "a useful international organization that can truly contribute to the peace and security of the world". They will never change. An organization that thinks "Palastine" is/should be a legitimate country (along with a freely elected terrorist government, I might add) can never be taken seriously, nor should be allowed to dictate anything to the United States. We must discontinue all funding and send the UN HQ packing - off of American soil. And they can take Tano with them.
