EXPLOITING TAXPAYER RAGE NOT THE WAY BACK FOR GOP

Sara,

I've been coming to this blog for years. I see the same thing over and over, "I'm angry W/ Bush too..I'm a conservative just trying to get my party back...blah blah".

But by the way Rick goes after our president day in and day out, you would swear Obama did everything Bush did and worse *before* he was elected.

Oh and Sara - Don't quote "gop as terrorists". I never said that so how can you quote it? What I said was they "took advantage" of the fear Americans felt after the attacks.

Case in point - What 's with the 30 min documentary by Pajama Media being advertised on this site? "The Next Jihad" or whatever it is. If a senior member of Al Qeada saw that, he would say, "Hey! Who sent the check to these Pajama people? I love their ads!"

And to answer your question - How could the GOP appeal to astute voters like me?

1.Sincerely apologize for telling us (twice) George W. Bush should be President of the United States of America. (you really told us that and Yes - He was that bad)

2.Stop with the wedge issues. Roe v. Wade will never be overturned. Stop distracting the country with it.

3.Stop telling us who can and who can't get married. Stick to your belief that the government shouldn't get involved in our lives.

4.Get behind completely overhauling campaign finance. No corporate or industry-group contributions for any candidate.

5.Stop being such angry dicks all the time and stop pandering to the rest of America's angry-dick population.

6. Fire Rush Limbaugh as your party's leader.

7. Decide once and for all that the GOP is here to serve America and not just the GOP - at all costs.

Because as it is now, there is nothing your party won't do to win. Nothing. Nothing too low, nothing too cynical, no divide too caustic, no prejudice too unfair, Nothing!

That's why the GOP doesn't particularly appeal to me... to put it mildly..

Mike Reynolds - Don't sweat it. You're talking to a loyal, GOP sock puppet whose job is to sow doubt in anything our president does. President Obama doesn't have to royally screw up anything like his republican predecessor did. He just has to be a democrat.

Imagine an entire party that closed their eyes and shut their mouths while their fearless leader spent us into an almost inescapable hole. While members of congress gutted every rule that would have protected the average American.

Now all of a sudden they're the responsible spending cops. Literally almost bankrupted the most powerful nation on earth in only 6 years and they're the waste-police? What a laugh.

Oh - And Sara - Yes - if only you could just pull a switch and get the entire country to believe a lie. Yes - That wouild be really great...

- if you're a republican.

I highly doubt the GOP will ever go for a "Unity" strategy over a dividing strategy. Division has been their stock in trade for so many years. How will they explain this to members of the base that have found so much comfort in the poor-hating, gay-hating, liberal-hating hysteria the GOP already churned up?

At least both strategies are better then the previous one where the GOP took advantage of a terrorist attack that killed thousands in order to stir up fear and win over hawks and create new ones.

That one was like finishing terrorist's job for them.

That was pretty sickening. I'm sure whatever else you guys come up with will be equally sickening. We already have a disastrous economy thanks to the GOP. What more damage can they do?

JANIS GOLD MUST DIE

I didn't read the rest of the post because I'm behind a few episodes... but I must say that I find Garafalo strangely attractive.. Kinda weird I know.. But then again I also thought Sarah Palin was kinda hot..

PRESIDENT OBAMA HATES WHITE PEOPLE AND WANTS THEM TO DIE

Hey - If we're going to compare bush-obama with every event that transpires, why not keep a score card? Whatta ya say, Rick? We lefties would be totally up for that, all the way up until 2016 - No Problemo.. would be fun. Bring it on.

Sorry, Rick but this is a poor comparison. Katrina was tracked for about a week before it hit. Also, President Bush was warned by the NOA days before about the levies. The result of Katrina was fully expected by the experts who advise the president. If you remember, that's what a lot of people were really mad about.

You're too smart to make this kind of argument, Rick. This is dishonest.

IT'S JUST A LITTLE STAB IN THE BACK

P.S. - I'd like to go back in your archives to see what you wrote about these turn of events in 2006:

Rick,

As you may know, I'm a regular reader of your blog and I'm a democrat.

I support Israel in this conflict and hope that one day both sides do a lot better in resolving mideast turmoil

Your side and mine have extremes. Your extreme right and my extreme left. I am hopeful because I know that the man I voted for will not represent the extreme left the way your man, George W. Bush represented the extreme right, ideologically, socially and economically. - (What an utter failure he was, following the right's puppet-masters to a "t" - total epic fail)

So - while I don't support the Israel-bashing, I wholeheartedly believe that Glen Greenwald's and other's views will not shape mideast policy after jan 20th.

So -freak'n relax - OK?

You just seem so bent on hammering the left any way you can. Jeez! What have we done? It's not like we've destroyed America's reputation and economy like your side did.

It's not like we fell asleep at the switch and almost enabled Hamas to come to power the way your Republican president did.

You put so much energy into hammering the left. You are so articulate and well- researched, I wish we had more like you on our side. I just have to question where you're aiming your gun...

The left's representation both in congress and soon the whitehouse is moderate. We'll do the right thing. Chill out.

Why don't you put some energy into helping your own party get a clue? I hear they really need one...

Right now, the left has a far superior resume than the right does... The right's reputation is basically shit now. They could really use your help...

I realize there are many liberals who support Israel. And you are doing a little wishful thinking if you believe Pelsoi, Reid, and many other Democratic leaders are "moderates." I am afraid you will be chagrined at some of the proposals coming from that crew if you consider yourself middle of the road.

And what I write on my blog is whatever strikes my fancy on a given day. Not that any conservatives listen to what I say anyway - something I'm sure you've seen. I have no desire to lead the GOP anywhere. As for conservatives, I will get around to putting my thoughts down I;m sure.

ed.

IS 'BARACK THE MAGIC NEGRO' RACIST?

Beth Said:

I’m a Latina.

Beth?

Yeah, right.

Beth?

Sure.

Republicans must not let the enemy deceive us. When Leftists give you advice they don't do it because they have your best interests at heart.

They want us to react just the way that party hack did.

If we are going to win both Duncan and McCain need to be thrown overboard. We can't win against the Left by being just like them. After all, if we are just like them why not just vote for them.

You are not going to win any converts from the Left but let me tell you if you beat your side up enough they will stay home.

And the RNC is doing a very good job at that. Almost like they aren't wanting to win the next election either? Is that part of the Script? Perhaps they are planning to get Ole Bob Dole to run again. Wow talk about another candidate that was DOA like McCain was.

Aydrian, people like you will never "get it". You are "the useful idiot" that the Marxists have talked about who they use to their ends. AussieLouis you can't vote in America so STFU.

One good piece of advice is to never take advice from your enemy. After all if they are your enemy why would they give you advice that would be good to begin with.

A lot of these people who are coming here are liberals pretending to be Republicans. I can tell you most people who hear the song get it. Especially when I explain it to them. Oh, yeah, that's why Jesse Jackson said the stuff about Obama he did...

My greatest concern is why did a RNC official go public with this knowing this is only going to cause divisiveness within the RNC. His job is suppose to be the exact opposite. He is supposed to push harmony and unity to a fault. Yet something that could have been dealt with behind the scenes now tears the RNC apart.

Sabotage from within? Well considering that Four Years ago John McCain wanted to run against Bush by being Kerry's running mate, it is pretty strange that he would get to become the GOP candidate.

When I was a child my dad took me to a wrestling match. It was great. There were two wrestlers who really, really hated each other, calling each other names, and doing all kinds of painful things to each others. I was eight so I thought it was great.

Well, afterwards we went to a cafe and my dad bought me a coke. Well who would happen to walk in but these two wrestlers now in street clothes. But what shocked me was that they were laughing with each other, acting like they were the best of friends. I asked my dad what was up? He explained to me that it was all an act what I had seen before. They would practice the moves ahead of time before the show and pretend that they hated each other but for the performance to work they had to cooperate with each other and work together to put on the show. Well, as I said I was eight, I was shocked. They were just a bunch of frauds. All that wrestling, all those words, all of that was just for the audience. It was just for show.

Sometimes I wonder if our elections are just like that. I wonder if like the wrestlers from my youth both candidates are working off the same script. I wonder if they decide somehow beforehand how it is supposed to come out in the end.

Perhaps the script called for McCain to lose the election. If that is indeed the case he sure played his part well.

I wonder if it is even worth it for the average citizen to get excited about elections. Perhaps it would be a lot less stressful just to stay home.
