This is stupidity.
I'm a writer of fiction. My fiction is often horrific and graphically violent (a scene in one of my short stories features a disturbed antihero figure cutting off a villain's hands on camera and then sending the tape to one of the villain's cohorts). I don't condone the amputation of the limbs of even horrible folks (and this character was a horrible fellow).
I've never had the urge to harm anyone (save monsters like Osama). Fiction is an exploration of the human condition (and hopefully a realistic one). Let's not pretend that people aren't sick, twisted, and violent.

Although you don't seem to get that passing on messages to terrorists isn't protected under "freedom of speech". She's allowed to say that she loves all of the actions of the totalitarian Left and Islamism, but we're just as free to denounce her idiocy and disgusting opinion.

You've obviously never read anything Chomsky's written. Criticism of Israel is fine, it's the extent of that criticism in comparison to criticism of the other sides. I'm sure you'd make the idiotic comment that Juan Cole isn't an antisemite either.

The UN was created so that we never had to see the horrors of the Holocaust again. In 1993, they failed their mission in the worst way. Tano, since you seem to be the one ignorant of history and geopolitics, I'm referring to Rwanda. Up until that point I always erred with "hey, the UN is only trying its best in a bad world!" We said 'never again' not 'never again as long as they aren't black people'. (Oh and I blame the United States for not intervening as well, just the UN had the prime responsibility.) And don't try your little "oh you ignorant Middle American" ad hominem. I'm from the bluest of the blue states, raised by blue-staters (I just happen to have a rational brain, unlike my brethren at home).

ANN COULTER: CONSERVATIVE LOUT
What seems so clear to me is that when liberals speak or write just as Ann Coulter did/does, we conservatives become upset and point out their nastiness. However, since it is Ann Coulter saying this conservatives are lauding her. Substituting rancor for intelligent debate is bad no matter which side does it. For those of you who support what she has done ask yourself if you would be so agreeable if one of these "Jersey Girls" mounted an attack against Lisa Beamer for profiting from her husband's death and enjoying the bounty and attention that came from her book.

Coulter does speak toward many valid issues, however no one is able to get past the angry rhetoric, and this is becoming true of even some of her fellow conservatives. Rick is not the first non-lefty to have shown misgivings about Miss Coulter. Just as "Screw them" Kos give us fodder due to his intolerant rantings, so too Ann for those who disagree with the conservative point of view.

Rick, I am inclined to agree with you as Coulter's comportment is concerned. And not on this single issue either. She does seem to feel a need to feed her rabid fans, or else she is the bitter and acerbic supposed "spokesperson" for the right. So either it's an act or legit, but in either case Coulter, while intelligent, is becoming known as the conservative version of (at least partly) the insufferable spokesperson. Kos for the Socialist left, Art Sippo for Catholicism and Coulter for the right. Or so they label her, but I didn't nominate her for that role and I'm much prefer a more even-tempered representitive.

Stay home! Don't vote! This country functions better when Congress is a different party than the White House. Government will always corrupt if there are no checks and balances in place. If you go to the polls now and vote Republican, you are condoning the actions of these politicians.
