Why do we even consider motive in a court of law, you certainly don't think it has bearing on anything. By your logic, bombing a factory in Germany during WWII and causing the deaths of nearby innocents is as horrific and evil as marching a group of people into a gas chamber.
I do, however, agree that the settlements should be dismantled in the West Bank (they're all gone from Gaza, folks). However, keep in mind that if Hamas put down their weapons there'd be peace, if Israel puts down its weapons there'd be no more Israel.
Do I believe if Israel disengaged from the West Bank as it did Gaza that there'd be peace? No. But it could finally turn to its more ridiculous critics and say "told you so".

I only WISH the US would stop supporting Israel-- the reason WHY there are "Arab terrorists" in the first place. No Israel = No Arab Terrorism! If Obama does this one thing he will be the GREATEST PRESIDENT of all time, because he will be allowing the destruction of the nation that has CREATED more terror (and terrorists) than any other nation on earth. We should not allow a 51st year for the modern Israel. The UN created it-- it should 'uncreate' it-- or allow it to be defeated!

Your ignorance of the shah's reign could fills volumes if you think his unfortunate regime was among the worst of the twentieth century. There were/are several more savage regimes in Southeast Adia. There were a dozen worse leaders in Europe during the past century. There were a dozen more regimes in the Arab world worse than his. There were countless more horrific dictators on the African continent.

For all the bad things the Shah did, he did also liberalize society and modernize it and the Iranians decided that they'd much rather live in a society devoid of freedom where homosexuals are hanged and women treated as second-class citizens. So the Iranians did far more harm to their own country than the United States ever did (why do the blame America first crew never turn such methodology on other countries - are they the only ones who are allowed external reasons for response?).

Though historically the far right has been where conspiracy theorists swell their ranks, a majority of Truthers come from the left side of the spectrum (though the higher ups/leaders of the "movement" are almost all far-right cranks). It's an odd meeting, to say the least.

Err he did answer the question. He answered it several times. Pointing out why our interventions are done, that we voluntarily vacate other territories, that the spread of our culture is based on the choices of the people IMPORTING said culture - those all point to America not being imperial.

The funniest thing is Greenwald has the completely backwards. The "American Empire" folks have never had a leg to stand on. They have to move the goal posts so much to make us an empire I can't believe they continue with a straight face. The people making the empire claim are the ones conflating superpower and empire, not Mr. Moran (who was specifically spelling out that we are not a superpower, and that that is different than an empire).
