Far be it for me to make fun of another's misfortune. My sister had a Vegas Vacation that was even worse. She refuses to go back. I've had great time both trips. Try the Renaissance Hotel. It is smaller, no casino, no flash and trash, they cater to you like a NYC hotel. There is never a line for a cab, and the doormen are great - as long as you tip them. The hotel was small enough for the staff to remember who was staying there and who was tipping. Great trip!
I'm more interested in shopping than casinos or shows, so I like Vegas - like New York shopping - west.
