WHAT'S ALL THE HUB-BUB ABOUT CAMPAIGN FINANCE?

I'm disappointed. I'm a liberal who reads Rick M. because his arguments are usually cogent, even if I usually don't agree with his conclusions. But it's disingenuous to pretend that a corporation is only the people who work for it. Before and after this decision, every individual who works for a corporation was free to use her assets to support political causes. It's just that, now, entities with access to assets that dwarf those of individuals will be able to express their political preferences using those assets. Like letting one team in a pickup basketball game use Yao Ming as their center. Rick, if you agree with the Citizens United decision, surely you can mount a more substantive defense than this.

'THE COST OF DYING:' FALSE CHOICES OR THE FUTURE OF AMERICAN HEALTHCARE?

Part of the problem is that there is no single answer. For some people, "the problem" is getting
as much care as they can. For others, "the problem" is avoiding meaningless and painful tests and treatment and making personal peace with their imminent mortality while medical establishments try frantically to run up billable procedures. Is the problem "death panels" or "life panels"? I'm not sure this is even something "we as a society" can address.

I don't think we're going to have a choice whether we want to address the questions raised or not. We will go bankrupt - no joke, not figuratively, not scare tactics but honest to God flat busted broke - if we don't figure it out.

A ROGUE REACTION: PALIN IS NO REAGAN

For what it's worth, I'm a liberal who recently added you to my Google Reader because one of the liberal blogs I read said you're a conservative who thinks and whose thought is worth considering, even if I don't agree with you. So for all the Palinites you've lost from your readership, here's at least one you've gained.
