I think you might want to take a closer look at Jim Demint who is a pragmatist with principles. Your description of him is totally out of sync with who he is and what he's done.
Northerner, here; very liberal on social issues, committed fiscal conservative.

His "life story"? His story is of a life of privilege and unearned advantage; of having everything handed to him on a silver platter. It's a story of being given everything but failing to be grateful for the gift and instead being angry, negative and vindictive toward the giver.
He is not "eloquent" so much as grandiloquent; he's a fake and a conjurer. It appalls me that so many people have been taken in by Obama. It scares me, actually. Let's hope the trend--of him losing badly--continues and he's consigned to that ash heap of history we've heard so much about.
No matter what happens, we-including bi-racial me-will be called "racists" by Obama devotees, so how about we just tell the truth-and demand it, as well.

THE 'MAN ON A WHITE HORSE' SYNDROME
A lot of those people at the "rally" were really there for a free rock concert. Not to say there aren't lots of koolaid drinkers who rush out to see/hear Obama (ie.worship hopechange), but a whole bunch of the bozos in this particular crowd were there to see/hear The Decembrists.

Yes but they don't ask WHY folks think the country is on the wrong track or what they'd consider right; and they don't ask what aspects of the Bush presidency they dislike. If anyone asked me, I'd say we're on the wrong track and Bush is doing a lousy job. But I'd say that because I think we're going too far toward socialism, have grown government when we should have shrunk it and Bush has caved to the left much too much and has failed to secure our borders. I doubt I'm the only one who'd answer the poll on that basis.
None of which is to suggest that Republicans aren't in trouble.... but those polls don't necessarily prove it.
