LOW EXPECTATIONS FOR CONGRESS

This seems pretty gloomy .. The EPA’s Blueprint for Disaster

MY OBLIGATORY POST ON JESSE JACKSON DEGONADING OBAMA

Why are you writing about this ..

it's an example of ..

Having is not so pleasing as wanting. It is not logical, but it is often true. -- Spock to T'Pring in Amok Time

Beyond the shear amusement of this story, there really isn't much here, except the soon-to-be announced retirement of Jesse Jackson as a "civil rights" leader.

THE CHICAGO TRIBUNE'S SILLY SUGGESTION

Funny how they can get selective with the Bill of Rights.

HONESTLY, IS JOHN ARAVOSIS A PIECE OF EXCREMENT OR WHAT?

This whole thing is just not going over well with the VFW crowd.

Once again, Wes Clark is showing once again that he doesn't know when to stop, like Pristina, when he risked World War III.

Meanwhile, even those who thought that McCain wasn't the best choice for Republican nominee have been galvanized into supporting McCain.

"We don't want the small, timid, slash and burn, negative campaigning of the past." (Josh Hafenbrack, "Obama Barack Obama Calls For New Political Spirit During South Florida Campaign Swing," [Fort Lauderdale, FL] Sun Sentinel, 3/26/07).

Using Obama's standard, does this make Wes Clark large and/or brave ?

Now, let's try a juxtaposition of Obama for McCain. Ouch.

THE PATRIOT GAME

the loop regarding the content of “social studies” textbooks

I got a hold of a new history textbook a few years ago and I must say it didn't just dwell on the sins of America, it could see no good.

I thumbed to the section on Carter .. they didn't like him, to Reagan .. they hated him, to Bush .. hated him too, to Clinton .. they had their doubts but were hoping.

This glass wasn't just half empty .. it was dirty, germ-filled, and toxic.

HOW DYSFUNCTIONAL IS OUR GOVERNMENT?

This was a war of wills, but Addington and Yoo knew the ground rules well. The Congressmen would have little time to ask questions, so they both used the "Russian bear hug" technique .. use long answers .. eat up their time.

Rudeness, by the way, usually scores points to most people's minds(i.e. view NAFTA debate between Gore and Perot).

Frankly, when hearings really don't want any real answers, which these hearing didn't, this is what they deserve. I've always wanted to see somebody give a Congressional committee a "body slam" and this is about as close as it will ever come and still stay polite.

FISA CLOTURE PASSES: WORLD ENDING, SAY NETROOTS

There was a surprising amount of resistance to Obama’s compromise on FISA from the left. As a Kos regular, I was pleasantly surprised that even some of the staunch Obama loyalists were breaking rank over this issue.

The Obamaniacs should be used to being treated this way, at least till Jan 2009. Obama will do what it takes to be elected, including throwing the leftosphere under the bus if necessary.

The rightosphere shouldn't take a solace in this though. Obama, rated the most liberal senator, should be back in normal form once sworn in as President.

OBAMA STARTING TO CREEP ME OUT

Oddly, when I first saw this Obama-seal, the first thing I thought of was that the shade of blue that was used seemed to make it fit so well into the 1984 Apple Macintosh commercial.
