WHEN "THAT'S THE WAY IT IS" ISN'T
The majority of the reporting done by the elite "old media" is now driven by their left-wing ideological agenda. The "reporters" who peddle what passes for journalism continue to drive the "old media" reputation into disrepute. Major old print media outlets recently abolished jobs in the newsroom and the major old broadcast networks will soon have similar reductions in force. The new "Fair & Balanced" news outlets are gaining audience share.

Rick, Too bad there is no line in Vegas for this bet, but I would wager that the Leftist old media and other barking moonbats will not let Mama Sheehan fade away soon. Other minimal protests, where she is involved, will be reported in a similar manner for some time to come.

The MMSM (Mendacious MainStream Media), having a well-developed herd mentality, saw FEMA as a way to bash Bush. The MMSM ran with the bashing with very few "journalists" taking the time to analyze the facts. Since the MMSM is duplicitous and have an overt liberal agenda, I don't mean to imply that they analyze facts on other occasions.

Watching cable, reading the MMSM (Mendacious MainsStream Media), but most of all reading the blogs, there is only one conclusion: The Democrats are not only SOFT on crime & terrorism but way SOFT on evacuation of citizens from a catastrophe. The Mayor of NO & the Governor of LA are both Dems - that is not adequately reported by the MMSM. Is it because 85% of MMSM folks are Dems? I know, I know this is the blame game, but Dems are trying to escape unscathed.

To emphasize a point made by Noel: The MMSM (Mendacious MainStream Media) will NOT permit any cogent discussion of The Welfare State to occur. The MMSM has their entire reputation invested in the Liberal agenda and can not sustain a discussion of that agenda. It would undermine the very foundation of the revenue stream generated by their perpetuation of the racial animosity in this country.

Richard, I'm sure the Brits appreciate you taking the time to use their tragedy to score political points.
If regime change and democracy in Iraq and Afghanistan, 2 hotbeds of terrorist activity (argue that there was no Iraqi connection to Al Queda until the cows come home, you'll be wrong) are not indicative of success, then you need to define success.
Also, please let us know what our "idiot president" SHOULD be doing to fight terror- because you're obviously a genius when it comes to geo-political thinking and are certain to have some suggestions which don't involve appeasement.
