THE CONSPIRACY TO UNIONIZE NORTH AMERICA?

Really. There is no Nafta highway. This is a Texas plan (and granted it sounds like a real stupid one). If you are against it, contact your local representatives, b/c the Feds are not in charge of this project. If they fail you, run for office.

And help yourself. Don't call it the NAFTA highway, call it what it is. Saying "NAFTA highway" makes you sound like a conspiracy nut and it will affect your appeal to others.

I did review the corridorwatch website. David Stall (his site) ran for State Senate. Did he win?

This sounds like big stupid government. Not nefarious. Stupid.

Hopefully we can find some point of common agreement.

1. Bird Flu is bad.
2. More trade is good.
3. Jihad against the US is bad.

These are the main issues of the SPP. To help in coordinating government efforts in case of avian flu. To make trade with our 3 countries easier for other countries (literally an extension of Reagan's philosophy that "a rising tide lifts all boats" to our nation's neighbors).

The CFR wrote that more trade could be made possible if trade tariffs could be made uniform amongst the 3 countries.

There is no NAU. There is no NAFTA superhighway. There is no treaty. The under secretary of the Commerce Dept. said on Friday that this is all garbage (he was taking calls on the air for an hour on Medved's radio show). Foxnews just mentioned that the administration refers to the idea of NAU as "silly".

Retire05 you seem to be a rational person. People are lying to you for your money. People are lying to you for political influence. The rest of us Right Wing Nut Jobs need you. There are real problems in this world. Do not let your voice be lost to this insane conspiracy.

Ugh. This quote is straight from the CFR document:

"North America is different from other regions of the world and must find its own cooperative route forward. A new North American community should rely more on the market and less on bureaucracy, more on pragmatic solutions to shared problems than on grand schemes of confederation or union, such as those in Europe. We must maintain respect for each other’s national sovereignty."

The idea of NAU is not even mentioned or suggested in the document.

The SPP skewers the idea on their FAQ section: http://www.spp.gov/myths_vs_facts.asp

For all that is good and decent, do not waste your time on this drivel.

For the most part, Gore does stress the importance of reducing carbon emissions. I think alot of Communist Republicans are jealous that he's a rich capitalist.

IS A REPUBLICAN COMEBACK IN THE CARDS?

Look for the old liberal media, broadcast & print, to generate a new anti-Republican smear campaign on some artificial issue that is favorable to the Democrats.

POPE TRIES AGAIN TO APPEASE THE UNAPPEASEABLE

I think the irony is nearly overwhelming. Honestly, words nearly fail me - are these Musliim swine for real? Sorry, excuse my redundant question - to the nun they've killed and the congregations they've left homeless by burning those churches, they are all too real alright! Well, as a (formerly) non-extremist Catholic I can honestly tell you, the over-reaction to the Pope's WORDS, following on from the treatment of that Danish cartoonist, has left me feeling extremely hostile toward Muslims everywhere and hoping that my church rises up to use it's far superior firepower to wipe this ugly blemish of a religion from the face of the planet! Yes, that's right, I, a non-hostile Catholic, has become so angered by these animals that I now hope they DO bring their f***ing Jihad here and get wiped out once and for all by my God-fearing, peaceful church. It's at times like this I actually get behind the likes of George Bush as the lesser of two evils. Whilst he doesn't represent MY religion, at least he'll try and protect me and my family from these vile, unhinged barbarians. I really hope it has come to the point that Christians the world over draw a line and finally stop pandering to these filth - we never wanted violence or hostility, but they brought it. What is wrong with these people that they aren't happy until they have someone (e.g. Salman Rushtie, cartoonists, the Pope, country's and Presidents) to sentence to DEATH - they really are animals and my only regret is that the Pope even tried to open discourse with these vermin. See the rewards for trying to pander to these violent wretches? He's got them threatening to send SUICIDE bombers into his f***ing home!! Seriously like, what is this like???? I'm too angry to type. Dirty Muslim scum, dirty, dirty, dirty.

"THE PATH TO 9/11" SCRUTINZED UNFAIRLY

You're putting forth the notion to your readers that it was the left that had a problem with this movie, but that's only part of the story.

Some of the sharpest criticism came from conservative Republicans. The reason being, at the end of the day, the film just made some stuff up, important stuff.

Maybe when you're dealing with anything else, you can get away with being a "docudrama" but when you're dealing with 9-11, you better have your facts straight, and that standard should exist outside of political considerations or anything else for that matter.

So..

"And this brings us to the real villain in all of this; ABC and their over-hyping this project as more of a documentary than a drama. Some of this controversy could have been avoided if the network hadn’t left themselves wide open to criticism for inventing scenes out of whole cloth and putting words in people’s mouths they didn’t say. Their promotion of the film as “based on the 9/11 Commission Report” was also inaccurate. When I first saw the advertising for the program, I actually thought it would be a dramatization of what was in the Commission’s report. What it turned out to be was a mish mash of stuff pulled directly from the report (“Everything is blinking red!”), composite scenes that give the gist of what policy makers were thinking, and invented drama used to illustrate certain themes and to suggest how characters may have acted in real life."

We can agree here.

9/10: A DEFINITIONAL DAY FOR THE LEFT

Ok, I'm not quite ready to let this go. This is how the list breaks down of people who think we "got what we deserved"

1. A few hundred or so looney American lefties that a few hundred or so other looney American lefties take seriously. Not that that makes their opinions any less odious.
2. A few hundred or so religious right leaders that millions of people take seriously.
3. A few hundred irrelevant European "journalists" that no one takes seriously.

I know it doesn't matter, not even a little bit, but for the sake of whatever, I'll point out that there are like five people on "the left" who think we deserved to get attacked.

No Democratic Senator, Congressperson, Governor, Mayor, State legislator, City council member, or Daily Kos poster. But that won't stop you from thinking so, and it won't stop me from losing my lunch when you suggest it, and the bloody wedge of extremist political rhetoric will continue to divide our country. Which is why, like I said, it doesn't really matter.

Yes, I'm in a sour mood, heh.
