NEW BANKING REGS A BOON FOR MAIN STREET

There are no banks that are too big to fail. They should have been liquidated as allowed for in bankruptcy and all the executives fired. It would have been painful but we'd be done talking about them by now and moving forward. Same with GM and Chrysler. Instead we're going to have zombie banks and auto manufacturers with more and more federal intervention.

I remember when Moran tried to convince me that the federal government under Obama was NOT trying to take over the auto and banking sectors.

WHAT'S SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND ABOUT CLIMATEGATE? EVERYTHING

The question is NOT whether the climate is changing. Everyone agrees that it is. The question is whether it's happening so fast that it's due to an influence not previously present - the burning of carbon fuels.

Ten years ago we were told that temperatures were rising too rapidly for it to be a "natural" process and that models predicted an even faster rise in the future. However, in the past decade, temperatures have NOT done as predicted and have, instead, declined just a bit. The failure of this prediction tells me that the people who made it don't know what they are talking about.

DOES THE GOVERNMENT THINK YOU'RE STUPID? OR A CHILD?

DOES THE GOVERNMENT THINK YOU’RE STUPID? OR A CHILD?

False dichotomy. The government thinks we're both.

BIRTHERS vs. TRUTHERS: WAR OF THE LOONS

They said the same thing about Monica Lewinsky. Until she produced that stained blue dress and it turned out the President was the liar. Over eight years later Clinton is still a punch line. Damage him much?

Barak Obama's life is nearly a completely blank book. Apparently it's "deranged" to want him to fill in a few lines.

Unlike the 9/11 crowd, the following statement would put the whole birth thing to rest

"I, Barak Obama, authorize the release to the media and the general public, all my records from Hawaii"

Instead he's spending money in court seeking to not release records. The appearance of a coverup is more damaging than anything that could be in the records. Unless it's not.

The only damage accruing to anyone in this matter is the damage to individual birthers who appear deranged - especially if they believe this issue is harming Obama one iota

WHY CONSERVATISM SUCKS RIGHT NOW

Sen. Tom Harkin said he wants Congress to use a climate bill to force auto companies to make new cars and trucks capable of running on 85 percent ethanol as well as conventional gasoline.

We own the automobile companies. Why not? I think that will be an easy one," Harkin said Thursday, referring to the government interests in Chrysler and General Motors.

Operational control? Nah. Who'd think that?

I know how many people it would take. That's why centrally planning of the economy doesn't work and why it's looney for Obama to try. Or does firing and hiring CEOs not count?

In 6 months Obama has got direct operational government control of the financial system and the automakers and is making a serious bid for direct government operational control of the energy and health care sectors. This is undeniable. Any conservative, heck any traditional liberal, ought to be worried by that. Sorry to hear you're not.

"Direct operational control" of a $3 trillion dollar sector of the economy? Do you know how many people it would take to have "direct operational control of the financial system? Don't be an idiot.

You're loonier than Robinson.

WHAT'S THE RUSH TO MARS, BUZZ? IT'S NOT LIKE IT'S GOING ANYWHERE

At the height of the Apollo program the then Department of Health Education and welfare (HEW) lost or could not account for money in excess of the NASA budget. THAT'S the kid of stuff we can't afford. You could dump every dollar down the ravenous sinkhole of the entitled and still not have anything to show for it. Why not reserve some of the money for doing something extraordinary?

"It’s not like Mars is going anywhere, right?"

Not if someone else gets there first.
