IS KEITH OLBERMANN REALLY A JOURNALIST?

Good post, but inaccurate with respect to Bill O'Reilly. He has always been a broadcast journalist, having spent most of his career prior to the O'Reilly Report working at local and national broadcast stations.

OLBERMANN: THERE IS NO TERRORISM THREAT, ONLY POLITICS.

Somebody please expose this clown and the others for the fools they are. Remeber the run-up to the '04 elections, when the terror threat was raised and the existence of specific threats to the Citicorp building and Wall Street were made known? Howard Dean cried that it was merely a political manuever by Bush and the neocons to keep people 'fearful'. Well, it turns out that the threat was quite real and the perpetrators of these plots were sentence to life imprisonment in the UK just this year. Has Dean been called on his outrageous comments? Has the President been lauded for acting to protect Americans under threat? Of course not. To these idiots on the Left and the Media there is no threat except from Bush-Hitler. Absolutely disgraceful.

ENDGAME

I agree, Rick, no more nation building and democracy promotion in Arab nations. B-52s and ICBMs from now on....

FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH

" Have we really gotten to a point in our national life where if your write or say something people disagree with that you can be canned for it?"

The answer is yes if it promotes a particular end result. This is a bi-partisan issue of felony stupidity.

Those who scream from any person to be fired, and mean it, had better look in the mirror as they may be the next target and wonder why nobody is there to help them.

ATTACK OF THE KILLER SPAMBOTS

That is an interesting thought. My site has been down 50 minutes.

BRITS YAWN AS IRAN DECLARES WAR

In 1941, when advised that it was too dangerous to send in the Royal Navy to evacuate British soldiers on Crete, Admiral Cunnigham stated to the effect that it would take three years to build a new warship, three hundred to rebuild a tradition.

What is the new price of British honor? Is Britain prepared to lose these fine men and women for the sake of its national honor? Or will it make a deal and show the world that Iran has the upper hand over them, now and forever?

I am an American living in the UK, and the ambivelence of the British is truly astounding. The struggles of the English soccer team and the Pakistani criket coach murder are much more vital deabtes these days, it seems. I am not confident that Britain will stand up to the Iranians.

STRANGER THAN FICTION: DOES 24 INSPIRE REAL LIFE TORTURE?

This show should be mandatory for anyone who gets their news from the MSM. In war you don't "read 'em their rights" or wait years to put the enemy to death. Attempting to make the military comply with what our police officers must do is incredibly naïve.

General Finnegan is lost in a dream world. Does the average person in France watch FOX? Germany or Turkey? I don’t think so. (Even if they did in these countries, do we really care?)

“Jack Bauer is a bad influence on the troops and that the show may even be responsible for the mistreatment of some prisoners.” This is just another mindless robot statement. I can see our troops cheering for Jack but when they walk out that door to do their job they DO THEIR JOB!

We should fight our wars within the appropriate guidelines but some in America have never liked the military, don’t really support the troops, and will never support and REP mission so they attempt to neuter the troops. War is hell. People die. The more terror we strike into the hearts of this current enemy the better we are as they only understand power. If we only have 6 months to get the job done we need to get the Congress to do that congress work that they are supposed to do and keep their hands out of war operations.

24 is television. It is not to be taken seriously. TV is for relaxation and Jack fills the hour very nicely.

'85 BELOVEDS WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN

Rick- You're right about the legacy of the '85 Bears. Not just in Chicago, but around the world. I'm a life-long Chicagoan and Bears fanatic and I moved to the UK this year to teach at an American high school outside London (I left the day before training camp opened. Just my luck!). Today I was accompanying a student field trip to a working coal mine in Wales. Of course I was wearing Bears colors on this Friday before the Super Bowl. So there I was, 100 yards below the earth's surface in a dank, damp, dark mine shaft when one of the Welsh miners came up to me and began talking about the '85 Bears and William Perry! He was looking forward to the SB because as a lad he loved the Bears and The Fridge! The '85 Bears have a Lasting Global Legacy!!. GO BEARS!!

THE TIME FOR EVASION IS OVER

You nailed it.

I wonder who will flinch first, the Prez or the DEMS? Which one really believes in their position?

Alas, politics will probably rule the roost.
