INTELLECTUAL CONSERVATISM ISN'T DEAD: WOULD YOU BUY A USED CAR FROM A LIBERAL? (PART II)

As far as the public option goes, using the argument that the government would get between the doctor and the patient is just plain wrong.I saw a doctor being interviewed yesterday who said right now the insurance companies are getting between doctors and patients, that insurance companies are "rationing" what a doctor can or cannot do. So lets drop the fear tactic about how the government will decide doctor's decisions.

If you can't tell the difference between "the government" and an "insurance company" then there is no use trying to discuss anything rationally with any of you.

INTELLECTUAL CONSERVATISM ISN'T DEAD: IT'S RESTING

I'd like to correct a fallacy that I hear the diehard conservatives using all the time. They claim the only reason people voted for Obama and Democrats is that they were un-informed.Although this will be anecdotal evidence only, 95% of liberals I have known are total political junkies and read liberal and conservative websites. So lets ditch the "liberals don't study the issues" crap, because its a myth of the rightwing. As a Democrat I come here every day, even after Rick said I was an ignoramus and knew nothing about politics! I guess I'm just a glutton for punishment. I consider Rick one of the sane conservatives, Beck I consider a nut. This site lets both liberals and conservatives have their say, its why I keep coming back.

POST HOC CRITICISM OF OBAMA TRIP JUSTIFIED

I knew the Limbaugh wing would enjoy Obama's failure, I didn't realize they would go threw the roof with joy like they did. I guess the conservative movement hasn't had much to cheer about lately. Their hatred of Obama is getting legendary. How sad

WHY IS THE PRESIDENT GOING TO COPENHAGEN TO LOBBY FOR THE OLYMPICS?

Michael Reynolds is spot on, the right has to feed their jones of a faux outrage every week. This is because they have a base that craves some kind of red meat to go on living. Public relations wise I'd probably advise the president to stay home, but I wouldn't throw a hissy if he went.

DOES THE WORLD LOVE US ANY MORE WITH OBAMA AS PRESIDENT?

Just like some of my fellow Democrats didn't like any thing Bush did, a lot of conservatives don't like anything Obama does or says. I thought Bush was a fool for going into Iraq, and a fool for how he handled the invasion. As far as Afhganistan no foreign power has ever tamed that country. For all you conservatives dogging Obama, if Bush hadn't made a mess in Iraq Obama wouldn't been elected. Bush made the mess in Iraq and created the political climate for Obama to win. You've got 3 plus years left with Obama, deal with it.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PASSION AND PARANOIA

Quit calling the number of protesters in "the hundreds of thousands". The DC fire department estimated the crowd at between 60 and 70 thousand. How is that hundreds of thousands?

THE LEFT IS ABSOLUTELY RIGHT ABOUT JOE WILSON

I'm glad Joe Wilson did what he did. This way the whole country can see what the gop has turned into. A lot of white Southerners, angry that the good ole days are over, that demographics of the country will make their party extinct. The gop is becoming a regional party, one dominated by the Glen Becks and the Sarah Palins. Thank you Mr. Wilson for exposing your party.

Like most ideological leftists, you have the mind of a child and the analytical skills of Alice in Wonderland.

MY PROBLEM WITH 'FALSE' EQUIVALENCE

John Cole is spot on. Its almost always " the democrats are worse"Its Rick's way of bashing crazy conservatives and still not alienating his sane conservative readers.

So, I have no integrity? There is no such thing as equivalency? Pretty heavy charges to make with no examples, no proof, nothing.

Of course, if you just want to stick your nose as far as it will go up Cole's ass, you're doing a damn fine job.

PALIN'S OUTRAGEOUS DEMAGOGUERY: WHY NOT? EVERYONE ELSE IS DOING IT.

First of all, let's remember that these people (liberals) are perfectly comfortable with an industry that butchers a million and a half of our poor, unwanted, and ethnic minorities every single year. Now they're pushing a bill that promotes and funds more of the same, as well as requiring seniors to listen to a pitch for euthanasia once every five years.

There may not be panels actually called "death panels" in the bill, but it is hardly demagoguery to envision a gang of government functionaries meeting to decide who lives and who dies. Indeed, that is the intended purpose of this "reform". You roll your eyes and say "Godwin's Law", but the Nazi comparison is apt.

VIOLENCE AT TOWN HALLS PREDICTABLE AND DISTURBING

Rick, you wrote...."Look at Rasmussen’s latest poll that show a significant bump in the president’s numbers from people who “strongly approve” of him, from 28% to 34% in less than a week...That 6 point bump cannot be explained by a glitch in the numbers. It is statistically significant enough that it had to have been driven by what’s been in the news."

Ok, take a look at Rasmussen today. Now it's shooting back up on the side of those who "strongly disapprove."

Care to spin that now? :-)
