AN ANSWER TO D'SOUZA'S "WHERE IS ATHEISM?" QUESTION
D'Souza learned from Anne Coulter that if you want to sell books you need to 'shock' the public with outrageous propositions.

As an Agnostic, I can only reconcile the tragedy at VT by knowing that there is evil in the world (and mental illness). If someone takes comfort in a belief in God, more power to them.
They've already got a sequel: the Imus story. I'm sick of hearing about that one already.

WHY PUBLIC TV FAILS THE PUBLIC
Government has no business funding the arts, period. I like Nova too, but I suspect it would be picked up by private concerns if public funding were to dry up.

AP HOPES FOR MORE IRAN "COMPROMISES." AND THAT UNICORNS ARE REAL.
I'm surprised nobody is complaining about the obvious 'quid pro quo', namely that we release some Iranians held in Iraq and allowed the red cross to visit some others (probably to facilitate their release).

NANCY'S EXCELLENT MIDDLE EAST ADVENTURE
Pretty good satire Rick. You do need to mention the fact that plenty of Republicans have gone to Syria without drawing a White House rebuke.

MICHAEL WARE NEEDS TO COME HOME
"I saw the Ware video and he clearly had a mocking look in his face. Send him home. Or put him in Gitmo. As long as traitorous MSM agents of subversion like Ware can make mocking expressions, our freedom is imperiled"
Put him in Gitmo? Now there's a way to protect our freedom- send those who mock presidential candidates to Gitmo.

I'd like to think that this was a pathetic attempt at humor Eugene.
SHIAS RAMPAGE IN IRAQ: IDIOTS RAMPAGE ON THE LEFT
"BTW - I think even Republicans will start agitating for withdrawal by early next year."

You're right Rick. I think McCain has hitched his star to a wagon with no wheels.
It seems whenever there's bad news out of Iraq you take the 'Left' to the woodshed for their rants.

I gotta ask: at what point would you throw in the towel on this exercise in nation building?
BRITS YAWN AS IRAN DECLARES WAR
We've taken about 200 of their citizens who were in Iraq legally (correct me if I'm wrong). Is that an 'act of war'?

SENATE SUGGESTS TELLING THE JIHADIS WHEN WE'RE LEAVING
Rick, you've written many posts suggesting that our mission in Iraq is unwinnable, if for no other reason than the Iraqi Government' intractability.

Yet when the Dems decide to do something about it you criticize them.
Even Bush has admitted the 'surge' is a last ditch effort. If it succeeds we won't need to be there next year. If it fails we shouldn't be there either.
