THE LUCKY 13

Rick,
If they take the House, they will get the Senate. I predict they gain neither. If Republicans in red districts don't vote to retain the seat, the gross effect will also help the Democrat senatorial candidate statewide, thus the tradition that both go together stands.

APOLOGY ACCEPTED. LET'S MOVE ON

In 1972, as he ran for the House, he was less apologetic in his comments about the merits of a volunteer army. He declared in the questionnaire that he opposed the draft but considered a volunteer army "a greater anathema."
"I am convinced a volunteer army would be an army of the poor and the black and the brown," Kerry wrote. "We must not repeat the travesty of the inequities present during Vietnam. I also fear having a professional army that views the perpetuation of war crimes as simply 'doing its job.'

America is lucky this leftist did not become President. He was unable on his own to recognize how damaging his words were. Right on cue, the sole reason the left nominated him for President, he bowed to the consensus. Could one imagine US foreign policy vacillating to the consensus whims? There would have been no Iraqi elections in January, appeasement to N. Korea & Iran. An Iraqi civil war would have occurred instantly with a President Kerry simply blaming Bush. So what if Democrats win the House, stability in Iraq in 08 will put those that wanted to cut & run on the wrong side of history.

KERRY: AS COLD AS THEY COME

OK, I'll give Kerry the benefit of the doubt. He referred to Bush. Since Bush was accepted to Harvard and Kerry had even lower grades wasn't, then Kerry voted to get us stuck in Iraq too.

Sounds like pneumonia. You need an antibiotic.

NOW I KNOW HOW ALICE FELT

Rick,
It appears that Democrats would have wanted the Republican leadership to waterboard Foley. An immediate inquisition should have been undertaken. Terrorists be dammed! A Republican is always held in the greatest suspicion! Why, Senator Dodd compared the Republican leadership to the Catholic Church in handling this matter.

I'm very happy that Democrats have now come to the Republican side, 16 year olds are children! Will this mean they will support parental notification for abortions? Advocate lessor smut on TV and in our schools. Will access to porn sites at the library be discontinued? Will condoms on cucumbers be a thing of the past. I was so pleased to see our grandmother, Congresswoman Harmon, talk about these "at risk" children. Gone will be the days of adolescents finding their sexuality, they will now be called boys and girls in need of adult supervision.

FOLEY MATTER PROVES REPUBLICANS SUPPORT PERVERTS

The assertion of cover-up? Why would any sane political decision maker want to withhold damaging information? If Foley were outed in 2005 rather than weeks before an election, that would have been preferred. This scandal's release timing is politically motivated. This falls into my "never substitute trust for good policy." It should have been more fully investigated so that we wouldn't have to rely on the trust of Foley.

GOLDBERG ON TORTURE: SOPHISTRY ON A STICK

Rick,
This is your bias with respect to harsh interrogation, Fundamental Attribution Error. Hat tip http://econlog.econlib.org/, why leftists think the way they do. Goldberg is right about context. I have asked Sullivan to define acceptable interrogation techniques, he simply replies "enjoy your tyranny." If I shoot a terrorist with a 50 cal, is the pain and suffering prior to death, torture?

When we try to understand the behavior of others, we often make a particularly human mistake. We tend to attribute too much to character and disposition and too little to situation and context. When we seek a better balance, we can adopt a more accepting view of events around us. http://www.chacocanyon.com/pointlookout/040505.shtml

CLINTON VS FOX: THE FALLOUT

EX-PRESIDENT CLINTON IS A HYPERSENSITIVE BULLY

One must remember that Bush's cowboy post 9/11 policy has been called a failure, yet Democrats want us to go back to the previous policy of Clinton & Bush pre-9/11. The movie exposes this inept strategy and shows us how dangerous the terrorists are. They are afraid that this movie will make Bush cowboy policy look good.
