I respectfully disagree. As you point out, we don't teach history anymore. I would say that there are no greatest Americans but that America is greatest as an ideal in Liberty. Were any of our great leaders doing anything other than what they should have done? Carter didn't then nor now understand what is America; Reagan was essential to restoring America back toward our fundamental ideals.

This is a great decision to use for conservative strict constructionist. I belong to a club in northern Wisconsin that I and our former Senator Fitzgerald are legacy members. In 1925 a group of dairy bottlers purchased the estate of AB Dick and another 8,000 acres of clear cut land. Only 2 of the large lakes have cabins on them, the other 7 lakes are for fishing. Vilas County placed restrictions on further building for tax complaints. Now the Court has given them the green light to TAKE the undeveloped land for development. I'm going to recommend to the board that if there is any attempt by the county to TAKE that land, we should designate it as a wilderness area with covenants for access by members.

You are right, they consider liberal synonymous with Democrat. Democrats took the bait, the Durbin statements will get a whole new public hearing. Durbin was criticizing the US, Rove was criticizing liberals like Durbin. What are they going to counter with, Howard Dean's UBL deserves a fair trial?

I would add, Foreign democracies that are quick to criticize for GITMO, must be willing to put pressure on the governments in the region as well, including threaten sanctions.

Its not the silliness of the report, it is the purpose of the report. They are attempting to generate a Machiavellian view of our electoral process. It is the same rhetoric used by Durbin to create ugly conspiracy theories to discredit Bush, but it goes further by discrediting our government.
