Yes I was kidding, Wilson was a stooge for partisans in the CIA. Able Danger must have some legs, the Left spin machine is pointing out it began during the Clinton Administration. Funny how this is really about the Patriot Act's necessity, they of course are against. Just like Democrats wrote legislation in the 60's & 70's prohibiting the CIA from passing on information to the FBI, because for some reason, Soviet money financing domestic unrest was ok, grass roots free speech! John Kerry didn't like it that the FBI monitored his Winter Soldier organization. Since Kerry considered communism just another form of government to provide for "felt needs" of its citizens, why should we worry about it. I mean, who cares if we had Soviet spies in the State Department!!!!

Before you sell short the US Military and intelligence services, let's put the whole operation into perspective. Military conventions were designed for large armies to accept surrender and cease hostilities. They gave assurances that the surrendering military would be given quarter and humane treatment. Saddam's regime organized, trained, financed the insurgency we are fighting. To receive the protection of the conventions, it is the obligation of the regime elements to cease operations, surrender. They have chosen to continue, thus they are illegal combatants. While I agree that some of the methods should be reviewed, you cite 2003, and probably have been, I don't equate a moral equivalence of free people attempting to cease senseless slaughter of civilians and US military personnel as being in conflict with our high standards of decency. We aren't the reason for the continued violence, the people we capture are, they deserve neither quarter or respect. Howe had plenty of opportunities to crush the Continental Army, but he chose a more civil course of action for the humanity of the Empire.

Relax. ID can be though of in a monolithic sense, the laws of nature. I don't think this will have the negative impact as placing condoms on cucumbers has.

We have the opportunity to apply the same human rights linkage of the Helsinki Agreements on the Soviet Union with these regimes. If our cowardly European democracies demand the same of Iran & N. Korea that they did of the Soviet Union, the pressure to reform will have a positive effect.

You are being intellectually dishonest. Everything the President said was consensus agency approved intelligence. After the fact revelations doesn't change that. Wilson's own debriefing didn't change agency concensus. Those in the agency that approved Wilson's op-ed should give us real concern. When agency personnel facilitate political discourse, it destroys the transparency of the agency all Americans should expect. I would not be surprised that the people new DCI Goss fired were part of this coup. The Machiavellian cloak & dagger "outing" is great political theater, it doesn't change the fact, that Wilson was a stooge used by agency personnel to attack the Administration.
