Wow...and I thought it was obvious that Obama political leanings would be seen as North American Social Liberalism.

It seems to me that Obama political leanings could be classed more as Social Liberal.
It seems that Obama believes in a government centered on individual freedoms, but recognizes there needs to be some government involvement if it is for the perceived public good.
