IF ELECTED, OBAMA WILL BE MY PRESIDENT
TO: sfcmac
RE: MaintainIt’s stark raving lunacy for a self-respecting democratic republic to give legitimacy to a socialist president. -- sfcmac
Lunacy? Probably.
If I understand the first three of your ID properly, we need to respect the Constitution. If America wants to go lunatic, they've go the right. That's what we swore to so long ago.
However, if all three branches of the government violate the Constitution......well.....weren't we supposed to defend it against ALL enemies? Foreign AND domestic?
The checks and balances have worked rather well these last 200+ years. But that doesn't mean they cannot be suborned.
On the other hand, if the election is rank with voter fraud getting a man into the Oval Office, then we have what amounts to a VERY interesting Constitutional Crisis. And I would wait on the Congress and the Supreme Court to rule before taking extreme umbrage. And I would counsel all my comrades-in-arms to hold their horses.

[This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can exercise their constitutional right of amending it, or exercise their revolutionary right to overthrow it. -- Abraham Lincoln]P.S. I would suspect that he meant the latter course of action when all others, i.e., to amend, have failed to redress.

RE: Kurt [with head] in SacBush/Cheney lied or were so incompetent that we invaded a country for no reason and that is a fact. No WMD and not terrorist. -- Kurt [with head] in Sac
The allegations he's claiming used by the Bush administration to justify going into Iraq as being lies have been proven to be true after all.
Kurt, with his head in a 'sac', just doesn't care to recognize it. But this is not the topical thread to disabuse his ignorance. Let alone his pride in being ignorant.

RE: Three Observations, Item #11. Alec Baldwin is a threat to America that needs to be rebuked? Really? -- Surabaya Stew
Trouble with reading English? Or remembering anything longer than a year ago?
Alec Baldwin, along with a lot of other brainless Blue Entertainment types, in the run-up to the 2000 General Election, threatened to move to a foreign country.
He never did.

You're welcome to stay.

3. What oath of office did you take in 1975? -- Surabaya Stew
Commissioned an officer in the United States Army.

But isn't it interesting that over the last 8 years, the Democrats have done so repeatedly against President Bush.
In the military, we refer to that as something of an 'indicator'.

RE: Troy Riser's Got Itthe second biggest trick the devil ever did was convincing people of color Republicans are somehow the party of bigots, against all evidence and historical example. Truth is, I would guess most Republicans believe skin color to be irrelevant, and work for and believe in the ideal of a color-blind society. This philosphy doesn’t lend itself to pandering. -- Troy Riser @ 'smith' [the ignorant.....or worse]
That's why people like 'smith' call the Secretaries of State, Colin Powell [whom I served with] and Condi Rice and Allen Keyes and Thomas Sowell, 'Uncle Toms'.
It's because THEY, the name-callers, are the real racists.

RE: Surabaya Stew[ings]For the first time in my memory, “Right Wing Nut House” has actually fulfilled its title....I find it fascinating that with the exception of Horatio at post #133, nobody has stated where they would move to if Obama wins. -- Surabaya Stew
Only a REAL 'nut job' who belonged in a Nut House would flee this country to move to some other lower-level. That's why some brave people were rebuking Alec Baldwin in some East Coast elitist community after the 2004 election when he showed his face at come community function there in 2005.
You're welcome to move. Personally, I'd rather live up to the oath of office I took in 1975.
