WHY WE NEED MORE INTROSPECTION FROM THE MEDIA

The base emotion in Westerners is sentimentality, and the symbiotic cycles of ink-blood-ink-blood in their newspapers are just another theme in their symphony. Other themes are the wretched poor, ethnic injustice, etc. Readers pick up the NY Times (could be renamed The Sentimental Journal) and gasp 'Oh, how horrible if that happened to me,' and 'Oh, those poor souls,' and 'Oh, we must do something about that (so I can stop thinking it could happen t me).' Eastern people don't react in this manner; show one of them an unfortunate person and he mostly likely will shrug and say something to the effect "Hey, they got their troubles, I got my troubles," and intervention would be considered an interference with a person's destiny.

ANN COULTER: CONSERVATIVE LOUT

The New Jersy Chicks chose to politicize their grief. Some of us (me, or instance) would say that we are past the expiration date of grief as a shield. If not, what is the date? Five years (coming up this fall), or ten years. Or is the exemption lifetime?

Hey, Rick. Just think. If Kerensky had had Ms. Coulter at his side, we here today might never have heard of Lenin, Stalin. Thanks for the post. Enjoyed it and the comments that flowed from it, and I'm sending (more) $$. Nice work.

WHAT THE LEFT REALLY WANTS FROM HADITHA

Stalin, the quint-essential lefty, said (more-or-less): two dead in a ditch is at tragedy, a million dead is a statistic. Were he in the oval office, he would have blown up the Sunni Triangle a million or so at a time, not 24 at a time.

AL GORE: MAKING THE WORLD SAFE FOR ANTI-AMERICANISM

Page 1 NYT this morning says Dutch scientists who took borings under Arctic Ocean found evidence that temperatures in that region averaged 74 degrees F a few years ago (55 million years ago, specifically). I thought, wow, now the Gore-nicks will have to admit that global temperatures fluctuate natually. WRONG. Turns out, according to NYT report, that is all the more evidence of our need to curtail our production of goods and services. The Florida-like period in the Arctic was probably caused by green house gasses (probably from volcanos, since dinosaurs didn't have cars) and that we still must curtail cars, smokestacks, etc., avers NYT.

CIA VS. THE WHITE HOUSE: THE VIPS CONNECTION

Scrapiron.
I can't figure out if these people you write about are dangerous. Maybe it is simply a collection of people who have difficulty seeing past the ends of their noses. Try asking them what they think would happen if we took our troops out of Iraq. The ones I have asked don't seem too have given it thought. Maybe just the agitation is what they wish for. The Kerensky government fell because there was a perfectly balanced stalemate in political power that allowed Lenin, who had only about 20,000 followers (well disciplined followers), to get his hands on the levers of power. Our moonbats don't seem to be disciplined, and seem to be doing nothing but screaming shrilly. But, then, that also is all that Lenin did.

Expect the Republican strategists to let Mary McCarthy and this situation twist in the wind all summer. A political campaign is a lot like a basketball game: coaching them is mainly manipulating momentum so that your team has it with 1-2 minutes left in the third quarter. Momentum has been with the Dems this spring, but now it is leaving them. The only danger for the GOP now is that the fires flare too fast, leaving time for still another shift before the buzzer.
