GRIM CHOICES CONFRONT GOP

"Conservatives seem to want respect but refuse to extend it"

This is a primary race, was not aware that Moderates/Independents represented the base of the Republican Party. Secondly, it hard to make such claim when practically everyone is telling Conservatives to just shut up and nominate McCain because he has moderate/independent voters.

If the race is all about 'gaining moderates and independent voters' why then do not moderate/independent voters run a candidate who can get the Conservative vote?

How will Moderates/Independents persuade me to choose between a McCain and an Obama?

Like what happened under four years of Jimmy Carter, America will indeed wake-up when their lives are directly affected by the policies they demanded, right now things are too good; give it four years under a high Misery Index and real change will occur.

NARROWING THE FIELD

It will be the moderate/independent voters who will be sans nose if they do not understand how their votes will end up getting a Democrat elected.

I live in the Left Coast Land of NYC and Guiliani is running behind McCain, one would think the moderate/independents here would at least get behind the man who turned around the self-created Liberal hellhole after he took office and who managed to keep NYC from plundering into madness days after the attack on 9/11.

For me that fact that NYers (most of whom believe that anyone right of Stalin is a Nazi) are gunning for McCain tells me that McCain isn't as moderate as he claims to be; I suppose McCain's argument that America uses torture at Gitmo, trashes Rumsfeld, trashes Big Parma, trashes hard-working legal citizens as lazy people, voted against ANWAR, sides with Kennedy on just about everything, hates talk-radio along with freedom of speech and supports Al Gore's Greenie-banning regime attracts so many 'moderates' in NY to McCain's campaign.

Sorry the 'hold your nose and vote for a liberal to stop another liberal' campaign isn't working for me. Polls are meaningless just last month Polls said that Rudy was the only candidate leading the race.

Perhaps McCain supporters might want to consider that they're the ones who are screwing the GOP Conservatives and should demand McCain get out of the race so that Hillary can be stopped. McCain has been in office for years yet for all this he bashed the military as torturers, trashed Rumsfeld, attempted to take cedit for what Gen. Petreaus and our fine military accomplished, voted against drilling in Anwar, did the back-door amnesty behind closed doors, intruded upon the 1st amendment, did nothing about entitlement programs, was a member of the Gang of 14, sided often with Kennedy and is a huge fan of Al Gore's Greenie fad.

Plus, for a 'pro-life' guy he managed to gain quite a few 'pro-abortion' votes so if this is the case Guiliani is a much better candidate than McCain.

Quite frankly, I'm sick and tired of all the religious fundies be they Socialist, Environmentalist, Christians, Jews, Muslims or whatever faith telling me that their 'issues' are all that matter.

I seriously do not see any difference between a McCain in office and Hillary in office so this time around I'm not holding my nose.If Americans need a high Misery Index let them get it through a Democrat.

FINAL PREDICTIONS FOR SC AND NV

I just returned from SC after spending three days getting out the vote only to discover that the majority of voters (with the exception of extreme evangelicals in the north part of the state who have been hypnotized by the serpent's tongue and had a crap-load of Satan's poll pushers!!!) had absolutely no idea who they were voting for.

Most all really like Fred (more than Romney who apparently has had his own evangelical on the payroll in SC getting out the vote) but they just weren't sure he could win.

SC voters voted by what the Polls has been telling who to vote for and the results reflect this fact.

Look at the exit polls. How did McCain take most the military vote after McCain has basically accused our fine military of torturing at Gitmo and even more bizarre, McCain took the majoirty of pro-abortion supporters!

Perhaps Fred would have greater numbers if he would have just betrayed Conservatism by accusing the troops of using torture and by being a pro-choice candidate who supports Al Gore's Greenie fad?

Or in other words if he spoke like a Democrat.

McCAIN NOW CROWNED "MR. INEVITABLE"

If McCain should receive the Republican nomination he'll have to rely on country-club republicans to GOTV for him, unfortunately the country-clubbers don't do door-to-door or phone banks.

But hey, maybe he can grassroot the independent voters however, the problem with this scenario is they like to sit on the fence and wait to see who's portrayed by the media as most popular.

IT'S "THE FRED EFFECT"

What good is a manager who has no principles to fall back on when times get tough?

For example, how can one be for smaller government while at the same time insisting the government will come to your rescue? Romney is a fine man however, despite all his money and management skills he is having a tough time rallying people to his cause.

Rudy's a good manager too, however he's the one who managed to encourage me to vote for Nanny Bloomberg, the very worst patsy of them all.

Perhaps is just because I live in Left Coast lunacy surrounded by pretty-boy metrosexuals who spend all their time at the beauty parlor, I am attracted to Fred's rugged individualism. To my ear, his voice bellows masculinity and looks are the last thing I want to base my vote on.

Fred! makes me feel calm in an otherwise nervous crowd; leaders aren't managers, hand-raisers or new-age light bulb changers.

If you want to know about Fred's lifetime of achievements go to Fred08.com, the list is too long for me to take the time to list.

HUCKASPLITTER

Since I'm new to Conservatism, Ihave a couple of questions,

Prior to 1973 were social conservative issues (ie marriage, abortion, right to religious expression) even on the ballot?

And prior to Reagan wasn't the Republican Party composed mainly 'country-club' Republicans?

Plumb Bob, I understand your concern though I would point out that President Bush did sign the partical-birth ban after 11 years of struggle. Quite an accomplishment considering the president does not have the power to amendment anything without Congressional approval.

One reason why I also support Fred! he understands the process by which our government functions. He knows he cannot offer social conservatives amendments to ban gay marriage or end abortion which is why he is encouraging state rights where, like Rick has mentioned, states establish their own moral code.

Huckabee is the one who is using Christ to identify with his audience; he's pretty much speaking to Christians.

In any case, Huckabee's problem is not his faith in Christianity, his problem is his faith in Socialism; I simply will not worship the State.

I would just ask Huckabee supporters how they would react, for example, if a Muslim politician campaigned on the platform of 'taking back the nation for Allah' by promising all sorts of federal amendments requiring Sharia Law?

Hey, I'd love a federal amendment demolishing the IRS but I know Ron Paul, who'd also like to lead the party, cannot deliver this promise.

Besides which I don't believe that lying in the name of Christ (ie promising all these federal amendments with a Dem-controlled Congress or saying 'I supported the surge' when in fact didn't support it at all) is showing faith in God.

I guess the most troubling thing with Huckabee's campaign is that the media is using him to kill other solid conservative candidates. I am put off by watching Huckabee (a pastor who claims he will take back the nation for Christ) on MSNBC attacking Fred Thompson after I have endured the last seven years of MSNBC crucifying George W. Bush as an idiot Christofascist.

I've lost many friends over the last couple of years defending a good many social conservative issues based on secular arguments but if Huckabee's supporter think that Bush isn't 'Christian' enough because he did not mandate Christ in our nation well, I have to wonder what's going on in the House of Worship these days. I hold a great deal of respect for President Bush for not being the Christofascist of which he was accused, but I cannot come to the defense of a politician claiming 'he'll put Christ back into the Nation' since I don't believe Christ wants to be a mandate.

That said, I say a prayer everyday to my creator that God's children open their eyes to some wickedness in their midst.

BLOGBURST FOR FRED - AN UPDATE

Well said Sheet Anchor!

Along those lines: "If you're not careful the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed and loving the people who are doing the oppressing." (Malcolm X)

And great fundraising Rick!!!

I will not let The Poll do my voting for me.
