IF ELECTED, OBAMA WILL BE MY PRESIDENT
This might seems unpatriotic to some, but the rise of the left, and in many ways the Republican's betrayal of conservative values, has lead me to a slightly different conclusion than Rick.
I've come to the realization that while I love America and her values - I love the Lord Jesus Christ more.
Politics has obsessed me for several years, and it has caused me to become intoxicated with my own self-righteousness and hatred of statism. I have tried to make my passion for democratic capitalism and my faith compatible, but I can't seem to reconcile my Lord's commandment to "Love my enemies" with my abiding hatred of the radical left wing.
Some people, much better people than I, (I'm thinking of Tony Snow, here) can set aside their anger, not allowing politics to overwhelm their humanity. However, I'm just not capable of setting my anger aside and "fighting the good fight."
For me, this means ignoring politics and focusing on my life as a follower of Jesus. I'll still vote for and support conservative candidates, but I'm done "fighting." I guess I'd rather keep my sanity than try to push back against the unstoppable wave of immorality/insanity that is today's American culture.
I don't think I'm unique in feeling this way. : )
