We've already sacrificed blood, sweat and billions of dollars for the Muslim world. That's our "outreach". Those who still hate us are always going to hate us. Unless we convert.
In order to get the economy going, Congress needs to recognize Pelosi is an impediment to progress. Vote her out of her leadership position and tell her to sit down and shut up.
Obama should stop the threats, gather top leaders from both sides and sequester everybody in a room with a clean sheet of paper. Tell them to craft something together that will work. Every line item should be discussed, the reasons for any spending should be clear as to how it will help the economy. Tax cuts should be included for small businesses who are terrified right now (because of Obama's fear tactics) of investing in employees and growth.
No hidden agendas.
When Congress takes a bill that's $825 billion and promises to cut it down, but days later it's higher by about $80 billion, good God, man, how can you say something isn't out of whack?
Of course, instead of working on the "crisis", Obama's off to "relax" at Kingsmill Resort this weekend. It's been a really exhausting two weeks in office.

Comeon! Obama is "reaching out" to fools. He might as well be waving a baseball bat, making threats. He's posturing. He does what he pleases. Who cares about the symbolic gestures?
The way he's threatening all of us, I fully expect to see him walk out with a parrot on his shoulder any moment now.
And this ludicrous waste of money - the Obama Faith Office, where all faiths are only now supposedly equal in the government's eyes....it's just ANOTHER avenue to pour our money into things we don't agree with. Funding Muslim outreach with my tax dollars? Kiss my ass.

Even our enemy Iran has made Symbolic gestures of reaching out. Should we play the game, give an inch to his demands, to show how much we appreciate the supposed spirit of generosity?
Obama is a cleverly crafted image, a poster boy for a radical agenda that is not good for our country. You know this: In one sentence you allude to it, and yet in another sentence you back off the premise. I appreciate your internal battles; struggling to support the office of the Presidency, yet believing the occupant goes against what you know in your gut to be true.
The Dark Side has pushed us into a hard place. Keep fighting. May the Force be with you.

Darling, obviously you have never read Atlas Shrugged. If you had, you would know that if "they" want to take it down, it will come down. Stubbornly, vindictively, selfishly (like always), just to prove a point.
Your optimism and self-reliance will serve you well if it happens. Do you have your seeds handy?

Regarding pay caps. Obama just picked out $500K. What if it were $300K,$100K? What does this figure represent, in his world? Clearly, it wouldn't be enough for Tom Daschle to live on. I have a problem with the government setting any pay caps on private businesses. But, I guess, the point is, they no longer are.
Also, retire05. I almost totally agree with what you say, except for the fact that (at least to my slim knowledge) Lousiana doesn't have its own missile defense system pointing at Iran. It does have good beignets though. We could toss those at terrorists.

In the past I may have applauded and pumped my fist when someone mentioned secession, or the Kentucky Resolution.
Now that we know Obama is as dangerously naive as we feared, that his only responses are to employ old socialist methods (executive pay caps, etc.) and feel-good photo ops, I'm less likely to be giddy over talk about such things.
Can you imagine our enemies licking their chops for something like that? We would be toast. Over in a flash, bang.

We couldn't write a more fitting script.
After an exhausting two weeks in office, Obama flees problems at home by playing teacher at a local school, where the 2nd graders ask hard hitting questions like "what is your favorite superhero?"
He chooses to read "The Moon Over Star", not realizing the symbolism (if he hands Michelle a single Red Rose on Valentine's Day, we're screwed).
Barack is simply proving what we worried about in the first place. His tendency to vote "present" - to want to hide behind others when the going gets tough. He soars when he preaches though.
Not to worry. If things fall apart, we'll need a Leader for the New World Order. I'm sure he'll be glad to step in. Nobody will question someone making pronouncements while the doves are being released at his feet.

Newt is fine in his current role. I know he wants more, but he needs to stay far, far away from the campaign bus.
To people like me, who cheered him on during the days of his contract with America - he represents a past generation of politicians who had their chance, and let us down, big time.
If it's true he's brilliant at grasping the reality of a situation, I would think he would see that. But, sigh, right after the election, my phone rang with someone who wanted to play me a "recorded message from Newt". I was, like, you're kidding, right? Tell him, sorry, but no thanks.

I don't think any of the consevatives here missed the irony of the piece at all.
What we are finding quite humorous, however, is how quickly people like you rushed to make sure your Obama was defended, this while he and Sasha played hoops on the WH basketball court. He adores his daughters, and that's why he loves his job, so he can hang around them all day. Or, haven't you heard?
Perhaps next time the crisis will strike in your neighborhood, and you can join the worshiping crowds laying palm fronds at the Messiah's feet when he visits.
