IF IT WASN'T SO FRIGHTENING, I WOULD LAUGH

Chuck #30

There are thousands more welfare queens living off the taxpayer. The amount society pays to them is far greater. I will restrain myself from mentioning birth rate comparisons, I'm not that tacky.

A banker flies a private jet to ask for more money. A welfare queen takes publicly provided transportation to the mall, where she signs up for Angel Tree, so well-meaning suburbanites can buy her kids nice presents. She takes another publicly provided bus to the city council meeting, where she complains that the suburbanites treat her badly.

Until you recognize that tilting the playing field towards the welfare queens only makes more welfare queens, we will only get more Henrietta Hugheses.

Oh, whatever. Obama is off on his new campaign for "fiscal responsibility." I can't wait to see who he's going to target with that.

Chuck and BS

Defend Henrietta Hughes and the welfare "queens" who game the system. Defend the couple in front of me at Food Lion who paid for foodstuffs with their taxpayer funded debit card, and then placed two cases of beer on the counter, which they paid for with cash.

One doesn't have to be rich to be a cheat. Henrietta and the CEOs both are doing the exact same thing; one is doing it with hundred dollar bills, and the other with one dollar bills.

Tell me, because I truly want to know. What is the difference?

The rich bankers are an easy target, eh - how dare they rape the middle class and poor! I'm not defending them, what they are willing to do without guilt is unfathomable to me. But your anger seems only pointed in one direction. Your sweet Henrietta is actually raping the taxpayer too, and you won't admit it.

But heck, what am I worrying about anyway? Considering what Obama has attempted and been able to accomplish these past three weeks, in three years Henrietta Hughes will be giving us all pointers.

SHOULD PRESIDENT TAYLOR INVOKE THE 25TH AMENDMENT?

OK not to nitpick

1. Why is everybody's "inside voice" just a whisper?

2. "Hey, Madame President, guess what, the agent guarding the First Gentleman was crooked! He's dead though. Oh well." Madame President: "Are you freakin' kidding me? What the h#ll is going on inside the agency?" No, she didn't say that. I don't even think she cared, from her reaction.

3. Korean grocer unlocks the door to the secret hideaway. "Hey Guys? You want somethin' to eat?" Nah, we finished the ice cream and homemade cookies you brought down earlier, and we're stuffed. Thanks, though!".... "Oh, Korean store front owner, we didn't hear the door shut, but that's ok, keep the door wide open, no problem...." .... By the way, why would you ask if we were hungry when you're supposed to pretend we aren't here?

4. All the big deal about torturing a baby but not really doing it (Renee was just pretending to), when the real torture was happening over at the warehouse. Hey, look- alike-dude (whose only look-alike features = big and black) and expendable agent who just spent 10 years at the academy training for something special. We've got an assignment for you! See you later!

"24" SUMMARY DELAYED

That's alright....we all collaborated offline and wrote it for you. Here it is:

It sucked.

PS You better get well quick before the Obama administration finds out and decides you are too expensive for the collective.

OBAMA GLIDES THROUGH PRESSER UNCHALLENGED

busboy

Any politician in high office has perfected the art of politic'n (acting skills) and so, yes, I do take a cynical view of public performances just as a given.

Why would Obama suddenly give up the stage show that his handlers have perfected and that has allowed him to craft the illusion he wants? The dude is a complete control freak. His image is the most valuable thing he has. The answer then, is: No, nothing would convince me that it wasn't staged.

Any lawyer knows never to ask a question if you don't know the answer. It also goes without saying, don't answer if you don't know the question.

Think about it. All these people treating him like a savior, and he does little to dispel the notion. Is it because he wants them to believe that he is their Savior - or because HE actually thinks he IS?

As long as he can appear to be able to produce manna, people will be willing to believe. It only takes a mistake or two -a big slip-up on a surprise question - for people to lose faith. Once that happens, he might be up on the mountaintop receiving his carved stone tablets, but the believers will be back on earth, carving new idols.

(Rick, thanks for allowing the back and forth using your personal blog...).

Non-screened citizens? You really think that?

If you were trying to give the impression that you were ready for anything, a true "for the common man" guy, the first thing you'd do would be to allow some "harder" sounding questions to be worked in the mix. Oh! Swoons the press, didn't he handle that tough questioner so calmly! Not a bead of sweat on his gorgeous brow!

But, of course, you would know the question and would have prepared the answer in advance.

This is a campaign that takes special care in placing people in designated seating for camera angle purposes. There ain't no way they leave the questions up to chance.

What's an analogy?

James #19

For a minute I thought I was reading something from Bill "Kill Your Parents" Ayers, but realized he doesn't talk like that anymore since Obama gave him the back door key to the White House.

Point is, there are nutcases on both sides of the aisle. Bill Ayers doesn't represent mainstream liberal thought (I hope) just as that weirdo you quoted doesn't represent the religious gun clinging patriots I know.

However, Congress represents current liberal thinking. And it is quite clear to many of us that Nancy and Harry et al are enjoying their Adventures in Babysitting.

BTW here's an appropriate quote from that (hilarious) movie.
Chris: [to Joe Gipp] Where are we going?
Daryl: To hell! Kind of exciting, don'tcha think?

Michael Reynolds,

I believe, that you believe, that leaders on your side believe, that they are the only "actual adults" in the room.

This belief explains why your party wants to stick its nose into every facet of our lives. Just like mom and dad would make every decision for a 5 year old who can't yet think for himself. Your party thinks the country is made up of ignorant children who, if left to their own devices, would surely kill themselves and others.

Here's the drama, playing out in wide-screen format, and we all get to watch it.

Will mommy and daddy be able to keep the children locked in their rooms, with the parental lock on the TV (no reason to let the kids know what's going on behind closed doors, it would just confuse them)?

Or will the "full time efforts of actual adults", like the drunken missions of raging alcoholics, burn the house down, with the children screaming in the back room, virtually ignored?

"Ain't softball a grand game?"

As my older brother likes to say: Softball is for pussies.

He should see some of the league games they play in the city. I wouldn't be calling on of those monsters "pussies" where they could hear him.

THE STIMULUS SHOULD GO BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD

bsjones,

I think you are very amiably exposing yourself as a J.D. and I am bound to be found lacking in cerebral heft, but let me try answering your question.

I really don't recall saying that "Congress" should not regulate. Its role is to appoint and oversee regulating agencies, while it makes laws referred to by and dealing with issues coming out of those agencies. The FDA can make its determinations away from the spectacle of Congressional "hearings".

What I do not want to witness is an attempt by this administration to portray business as an antagonist. The sight of Congressmen behind long stretches of tabletops with nameplate IDs, making threats via microphones, holding up a jar of peanut butter and asking someone to eat it, is sending a message.

To business owners: We are the ones in power now, do not cross us. To average Joes: Government is here to protect you from the business owners. Corporate America is the evil thing out to destroy you. Government is your friend, big government is a bigger friend.

Is that the end run of this administration? Making the average Joe believe that his interest is served by government and not the private sector? I think so. So, when I spoke of Congress flexing its muscles, I meant for show, for public spectacle, because it had no power anyway. Just the power of the TV camera and the message.

For the record, I think John Edwards is a disgusting human being. It would not be fair of me to lump every trial lawyer in with Edwards, just as it would not be fair for all companies to be lumped in with the Peanut Co. of America. But, that's what Congress appears to want to do.
