CPAC AGENDA SHOWS CONSERVATIVES STILL IN DENIAL

Richard #14

but I’m going to err on the side of those who aren’t going to tell me how I MUST live my life.

You're kidding right? OMG! That statement is so incredibly devoid of reality I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Nancy and Barney and Harry want nothing short of total control of your life. The Democrats want to keep you from smoking, from eating too much, and only the right foods. They want to dictate the car you drive, the temperature of your house. They'll check the curb to make sure you are recycling. They want to limit what you earn, and if it's too much, they'll tax you to make you equal with everybody else. Don't spank your child! Wear a seatbelt! Watch what you say, or else you can be jailed for hate speech.

From the cradle to the grave, they've got plans for you. And you are worried about !. abortion and 2. gay rights? WTF? That's it? Are you planning to have one or be one? If not, then get a grip.

NEIWART AND THE LEFT DON'T GET IT

What it is, is that Mr. Obama can't stand criticism. He just can't. You can tell the way he brings up Hannity and Rush, oh, in an off-handed way, with a smile, as if it's an afterthought, hadn't really thought about it, you know.

But our young leader is a narcissist, who wants only to hear himself talk on the airwaves, he wants love, craves love. And he can't stand people pointing out his mistakes. He wants not to hear criticism anymore.

Obama is all about the youth, and young people don't listen to talk radio. They plug their Ipods in the dash. Obama is aware of that. So this focus on "fairness", it's just to stifle criticism, where-ever it is found. Because it gets under the President's skin and itches like a bad rash.

IS THE RIGHT READY TO RETURN TO POWER?

Shaun,

My God you are full of assumptions.

First, your assumption is that Manning implicated you personally. I still don't see it. Unless you are a socialist or communist and then, well, I will disagree with Rick. People in that category are necessarily anti-American because our country wasn't made that way.

Second, if I were happy with the state of conservatism, dude, I'd be doing other things with my time than banging my freakin' head against the wall day after day, reading blogs like this one, attempting to figure out what the hell is going on in this country. I have a busy life - but my concerns are overwhelming. A trillion dollars just left the building, Shaun. Do you have any idea how much money that is?

Third, your jab that I might like CPAC is correct. I'd go, but frankly, I don't have $750 to pay to bypass the long lines to hear Rush Limbaugh. Wish I did, but I've got college expenses coming up for my two kids.

Yes, I'm a Rush Limbaugh fan. I'm proud of it too, I find him highly entertaining. That doesn't mean I follow him blindly. Which is more than I can say for the cultists of Obama. What I learned on November 4th? I learned plenty, Shaun. What I learned changed my whole attitude about America. I used to take it for granted. Now I don't.

Shaun,

Where did you get that Manning called you Anti-American? Between the lines? Voices in your head?

Your post was truly lame. Typical liberal: Are you dissin' me? "Right-wing echo chamber?" Clever, haven't heard that one before.

Rick,

I guess I may have found something to disagree with you here. Doesn't happen much. It could be because this was a lot to soak in on a Sunday afternoon.

But this:

"That’s because the government is as big as it is because it needs to be. In order to shrink it, you would have to eliminate modern society itself"

I would say yes, if we are affording the government we now have. But we aren't. It's like saying you own a home, but you don't as long as the bank holds the mortgage. Our government is not in our control anymore, it grows without reason or thought; it's not planned well. So I absolutely think it can and should be smaller, regardless of the size of our economy.

If you truly don't believe we can shrink the dreams, desires, needs and wants of society and thereby shrink the size of government, then really what can be our hope at all of making any tangible difference.

What's our purpose then?

That's just scary.

HATE TO RUIN YOUR WEEKEND, BUT...

Chuck

Thanks for letting us know what you do all day.

I've noticed that our liberal antagonists here aren't defending the bill beyond

1. It's only a small percentage of total spending

2. George Bush did it

Anyone who jokes about wasteful spending, probably doesn't work that hard. Confiscating a person's income to "piss a goodly portion of it away" is evil, not funny.

This cavalier attitude towards people who pay taxes is sick, sick.

Now that Obama has his Spendulus in place, we barely have a moment to catch our breath before he's already back on TV asking for more.

He's got our money, now he wants our time. Give to your community, he tells us. Do your part! Lace up your shoes, get to work! And, I'll be here, comrades, leading you, my visage on the TV; today, and tomorrow and the day after that! I promise to be on the screen, all the time, constantly!

Are we facing four years of this little dictator, constantly telling us that we aren't doing enough, aren't giving enough, aren't paying enough?

(all the libs here are gleefully scratching themselves and whispering yes! yes, and it will be 8 years, 8 years!)

Remember Michelle's warning that "Barack will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual, uninvolved"? Well, dammit I don't want to serve Obama. I'm busy. I filed my taxes, paid tens of thousands. All I want to do now, is I want to watch Jeopardy, and then, after that, maybe King of Queens.

If someone shows up at my door asking why I haven't logged into USAService.org, I'll claim I have Outrage Fatigue (great term, Rick). They can run it through their new Daschle federal computer medical database, where it will be determined that it's a viral ailment that spreads easily in communities with high IQs. Then I'll be shot, for the benefit of the collective. I suppose it beats slapping Hope posters on street posts.

IF IT WASN'T SO FRIGHTENING, I WOULD LAUGH

#62 Wheels

The money is going to China and foreign governments. We need to prop them, keep em liquid so they can turn around and buy more of our treasuries. The top dogs can't say it, the average Joe would not understand, the average Joe has no clue about trade wars and such. Buy American! sounds perfect to him.

I said I would give them ten dollars. I thought that WAS nice.

Rick,

How are you feeling today. It is more frightening today than yesterday, I think. Today, it's done.

Last fall, I had friends who refused to vote for McCain. Their reasons were many, and valid. Mostly, they wanted to make a point. They all reasoned that Obama's inexperience would result in a disgruntled country voting a conservative candidate into office in 2012.

At the time, I tried to reason with them. Obama would do irreparable harm to this country! We would not be able to change it back, as easy as they were believing. This guy is not just a Jimmy Carter, there's more to him than that. Carter was a fool. Obama is not.

In three short weeks we have become a different nation. We have loaded a tax burden on our children and their children that is meant to redistribute the wealth in a very unapologetic fashion. (Taxpayer money for ACORN? So?)

We have a government that enjoys singling out businessmen for ridicule while plying gifts and honors on the homeless.

This is how we equalize society, by making us all slaves to our government.

Chuck, BS, Michael - it's Valentine's Day and love is in the air! So, here's my "capitalist" valentine to you.

Roses are red
Violets are blue
If you were on the side of the road, hungry or hurt
I'd probably kick you
Before I gave you ten dollars.

Alright children. Let's play nice. No more of that, please.

ed.
