WE HAVE OVERCOME TODAY

I wonder if all the people hoping that we'd have some sort of divine transformation, today at noon, understand how Joe Lowery illuminated why no such transformation will occur.

The civil rights leader's words, asking for a day when "blacks aren't asked to give back, brown can stick around, yellow will be mellow, red man can get ahead, man -- and whites will embrace what is right," support those who never believed the truth of a supposed post-racial Obama administration.

As Rick said, 'No, the election and inauguration of President Obama does not banish racism or discrimination from America. That happy event is still in the future.'

I think many Americans now have a much clearer idea who is responsible for racism today.

So, you freakin' lied?

Well, I guess that's appropriate on a day like today, a true celebration of how we got here.

I already responded to you there, so no reason to duplicate the post, but you seem on a mission to piss people off lately. Using the phrase "Word Made Flesh" surely did it. Congratulations!

I WILL MISS THE LEFT'S BUSH DERANGEMENT

Hey Chuck, Rick described you perfectly, except for the monkey part. There are two monkeys involved, right?

Where else but on this blog can you get castigated so eloquently by one of your own. Only "conservatives" can exhibit such derangement against another conservative. Maybe that's why we lose elections?

Anyway I'm gone to plug in my zip on this cool new government website (usaservice.org) to find a house to paint for free, while the owner drinks beer.

Michael,

I enjoy your daily posts and, without question, you are a fine example of the new Obama era of civility.

You IDIOT. Ha, just kidding... I can say that until tomorrow without getting into trouble, right?

By the way, Rick, your response to jackson #8, supports my original post. I said that Obama used BDS to his benefit whenever possible. He chose not to refute it during the election. Where was all the "Bush is a great guy" prior to now? There were many times he could have toned down the screaming.

I'm not saying that he's one-dimensional. Quite the contrary. I know for a fact he was the most liberal Senator in the Senate when he served there. Now, a short time later, he's back-pedaling, over-promising, and making a show of reaching out to conservatives. Multi-dimensional? Absolutely. Who knows where he is truly coming from?

Whew! Maybe you do need your Zoloft, Rick. Please call your Dr. pronto.

Say you to me (#4) "....If you want to live your life as an ignoramus, fine...."

Thanks for calling me a 4 syllable word. Perhaps I am an ignoramus for reading your columns.

If Obama didn't subscribe to BDS, he sure took advantage of it to elevate himself. His advisors certainly exhibited BDS, his friends and preachers, too.

His remark about Bush being a good guy is simply more rhetoric after the fact, as he tries to seduce conservatives to work with him.

Nobody's buying it... except you Rick?

There you go. Obama is also more than one dimension. If you want to live your life as an ignoramus, fine. Not recognizing humanity in your political opponent is animal-like intelligence.

WHY GEITHNER HAS GOT TO GO

shishkabob #17

Popcorn is fitting, since this is a drama-comedy, and wine will relax you for the seduction, eh? Enjoy stroking yourself through it. Sorry to be vulgar (I'm not normally so) but there's no other way to understand people like you without envisioning non-producers laying-about on the couch.

Unfortunately, Atlas Shrugged is a long novel, and we haven't even made it to Part II yet.

Oh, PS, I'll be working, earning money/tax revenues to help pay for your lifestyle.

Epic Fail, love the term, love it.

Senators in both parties are defending the guy as "brilliant" and insist he should be confirmed.

The supposedly-most-brilliant people in the room have led us to where we are today, either by accident or gleeful design, and therefore the term should be an immediate disqualifier.

The dude is at a minimum self-serving, who will write and enforce laws for average people, like me, whom he never bothers to notice, when his driver chauffers him to his next important meeting.

I am sick of this type of white collar "criminal" running my country into the ground. Competence? Isn't that best defined by result? If not, it should be. His results SUCK. Let the B-students run the place for awhile. Couldn't do worse, unless they're cheaters too.

INVESTIGATING THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION A PARTISAN MINEFIELD

Can't we just chalk it up to "honest mistakes" and leave it at that? It works for people at the Treasury Department, and for Charlie Rangel.

How can you root for Jack Bauer and then call for prosecuting "real" agents who've kept your family safe --all in the same week?

I'm with retire05. High five, dude.
