Elvis and Jackson sold more records than Sinatra or any of the other entertainers that the editor of this blog mentions. The truth is that as Elvis got older, his voice matured. He knew that he couldn't keep singing teenie bopper music. He changed his style by switching to pop with a helping of rock now and then. Yet he managed to still outsell all of the other singers in his era. Yes he also did some crazy things. But all those who knew him said he was one of the most generous persons that lived. Often helping total strangers because he heard that they needed help. Even though he has been dead for over thirty years his estate is still profiting from his talent more than any other deceased celebrity and that includes Frank Sinatra. Granted Jackson had a really weird lifestyle. Was he a child molester ? I don't know and neither does any other person who isn't directly involved with the matter. I hear that he also was the type of person who would help a person out who was down on his luck. The man is an enigma within an enigma. As far as talent goes ,his singing voice never matured where he could sing other songs that appeal to those fans of his who have outgrown their teenie bopper years. That was one of his problems. ;his fans had grown but he hadn't. Just one thing. Sinatra owned the Cal Neva lodge that was mobbed up with the Chicago Mob and Giancana. He was also known to associate with mobsters. Some notable authors and journalist have written that he was the go between between the Kennedys and the mob. Does this make him a mobster? Just wondering. By the way. I think that Sinatra was one of the top five singer of our era. I am glad to have MJ Elvis, Holly, Drifters, Sinatra,Streisand, Garland as well as the Beatles ,Doors and Stones in my collection.
