SARAH PALIN AS THE PIVOT FOR 'NEW' GOP
While you describe the Left's dream scenario, it ain't going to happen. The stakes are too high, and by unifying the GOP to slaughter Democrats en masse Palin will be the go-to woman. Potential GOP nominees will have to kiss her ass in 2012, and she will be able to capitalize on celebrity in the private sector as long as she wishes. Unlike Obama, Palin realizes celebrity and personality cults are prescriptions for failed Administrations.
America will not tolerate another incompetent, unqualified president, and Palin realizes. I suspect Obama fears it.

Cheney is despised simply because he reveals Obama as the tiny, ineffectual man he actually is. We've had some small people in the White House but this one can walk through the keyholes. I can't believe everyone is shocked that Obama is such a fuck up.

But you waited too late. I know how it feels when stocks go up more than anticipated. The other Transparents, like Johnson and Sullivan, tried to sell at the last minute. Soon, both will be True Conservatives because they will ho the other side of the street when the market is up.
Note to normal human sellers: you can only ho when there is a market.
Prediction: GOP House 2010, Senate and White House 2012, and Moran lying about what he thought soon thereafter.

The deranged freak show in Copenhagen was the last straw, indeed. I almost vomited to see a United States president disgrace himself and the nation by his presence there..but then again, the abomination of the United Nations defiles our soil every day. Close the UN and spend the money on actual assistance to people the world over.

The world hasn't, but its elitists and kleptocrats indeed have gone mad. Nothing--mark my word, absolutely nothing--came out of this except a few warm fuzzies on the Western Left's part and begging from thieves and bastards and whores from around the fly and human vermin-infested Third World. There will be no money, and the warm fuzzies will migrate to new, bright and shiny things by ignoramuses of the American and European Left once the Denmark delusions subside. The AGW Church will have to look for new converts, and the oppressors of Third World peoples new ways to shake down the West.
It was about control as well as New Age religion and socialist redistribution. Unfortunately for those who want power, there are outposts of freedom like the United States (its people, at least) who put the brakes on this puppy before it was whelped.
This was a farce, and to describe it as anything less is a lie. Even our left-wing media couldn't work up a good narrative for the charade, which was the total madness in the end.
The Copenhagen failure was this year's Christmas present for the world.

Rick, you must be far too melodramatic than you are capable to pull off this type of exit. Charles Johnson has set the gold standard here--and wrote one of the most unintentionally funny things I've ever read on the 'Net. Word about the Communist Party, though: they really do purge, and it gets kind of bloody.

It was a very good speech. The test will be whenever things get rough there and he has to do something wildly unpopular. As an American, I hope he will sacrifice popularity for results. As a realist, and based on Obama's record to date, I sincerely doubt he has "grown into the job" and can rise above applause lines. If he proves me wrong I will be happy. I doubt he will prove me wrong.
