Interesting point, there really haven't been many in recent times capable of such skills. But one thing I would say is that I am sure that when Reagan & Humphrey spoke in patriotic terms outside of political speeches but instead at normal events(e.g a quiet day out) there were probably a few cringe worthy and embarrassing moments.
