LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION

Yesterday, I dug up one of the old stories about former Comptroller Alan Hevesi, who was found to have misappropriated state funds into his own pockets.

At the time Spitzer had just been elected governor; Hevesi just reelected. Spitzer said that Hevesi was unfit for office and should resign.

Spitzer should hold to his own standards - and resign.

RELEASE OF IRAN NIE A REMARKABLE TESTAMENT TO AMERICAN EXCEPTIONALISM

There's one other thing that strikes me interesting about the released NIE; it virtually mirrors what open source materials have said about Iran for years.

There isn't anything actually earth shattering in the public portion of the NIE. We know Iran's been enriching uranium at Natanz - even Iran acknowledges this and that they want to increase the number of centrifuges.

What is infuriating is that the NIE (and much of the punditry from the Left) seemingly disconnects the enrichment activities from the weapons building program, despite that you need the former to proceed on the latter.

FRANCE PONIES UP: BOLSTERS UNIFIL

The key to disarming Hizbullah is securing the Syria-Lebanon border, which is something Syria has absolutely no intention of every allowing. They refuse to allow international troops to patrol the Lebanese side of the border, which might result in interdicting Hizbullah resupply efforts.

To disarm Hizbullah you need to do more than simply take away guns and equipment from Hizbullah you see scurrying around South Lebanon. You have to interdict the supply lines or else Hizbullah will simply stockpile those weapons out of view until such time that they're needed again.

TAKE BACK THE MEMORIAL: FLUSH THE NY TIMES

Thanks for picking up that editorial. The NYT editorial position is odious at best, and downright unAmerican at worst.

Who is the NYT to call anyone unAmerican. What gives them that right? They've been against development at Ground Zero from nearly Day One, and see absolutely no problem with pursuing an anti-American slant in the name of free speech at Ground Zero, despite the fact that the families simply don't want it there.

Burlingame gets attacked by the Times for speaking the truth, and the Times simply repeats the nonsense that the IFC and The Drawing Center have used in their 'defense'. Actions speak louder than words, and those organizations continue to run anti-American exhibits, rely upon anti-American artists and contributors, and are funded by anti-American groups.
