Surabaya, WHY was he nominated after 11 DAYS???? One simply cannot get away from the fact that such a nomination is utterly bogus, worthy of SNL.Comment Posted By hoody On 9.10.2009 @ 08:09
Yes, it could hurt to congratulate him. One thing about the man that we keep forgetting is that, though you have pointed out quite correctly that he IS a neophyte, HE ALSO DOESN'T PROPERLY REALIZE HE'S A NEOPHYTE!!
What happens to the callow youth that is granted the high honor he really does not deserve? What happens to Mike Reynolds promising officer being given the Medal of Honor for leading one patrol?
He gets a big head. Given Obama's greenness, that is DANGEROUS. He should NOT be congratulated. Someone, somehow, needs to be the Coach to this man, take him out somewhere quiet and remind him that he still hasn't done squat, that he really is NOT the Messiah.
A Messiah in the White House is bad enough. An unqualified one who keeps getting told that he in fact IS one is indescribably ominous.
How can anyone in the future ever take the Peace Prize committee seriously again?Comment Posted By hoody On 9.10.2009 @ 08:07
regardless of various definitions of communitarianism, it is rightly understood and executed (if it ever is) once the actual definition of "community" is achieved. Is it the family? Township? Region? State? Country? Clearly, all are forms of community. But the suppression of the desires of the individual for the good of the whole works only when the individual has the right of voluntary association with the community. This is why communitarianism worked for the early Christians, the Pilgrims, the Amish and some '60s-style communes. To try and enact this on the state level is in no real way different from the statist Communism found behind the Iron Curtain.
In this, I am not suggesting for a moment that B.O. is Communist. And he IS to be applauded for being at least some form of thinker.
But if his goal is Statist Communitarianism, the road to ruin is straightly paved.Comment Posted By hoody On 11.09.2009 @ 08:00
And as for retire; 40,000 people responding to naked demagoguery is no new thing, and not something to be proud of. Review your history texts for other examples: Paris, 1780s; Moscow and St. Petersburg, 1917; Nuremburg, 1930s. It is easy to whip the proles into a frenzy. It is much more difficult to lead with integrity.Comment Posted By hoody On 21.04.2008 @ 10:26
Bobwire: You are partially correct in saying the following: You consign yourselves to your own manipulation. I will see all of you in hell.
If complete intellectual cluelessness is a requisite for damnation, you sir amply qualify. You are correct, then, in that you are going to hell.
And you forgot to put Bob Packwood on your list of "conservatives" who were raked by the media.Comment Posted By hoody On 21.04.2008 @ 10:20
My only regret over all of this is that she is getting whipped too early. What I'd really like to see is a delegate split, followed by a brokered convention (seems to me that the superdelegate situation can amount to the same thing) where the Clintons pull out all the stops in trashing people to get the nomination, followed by a sound thrashing at the hands of McCain voters who turn out in droves simply to prevent HillBilly from re-occupying Blight House.Comment Posted By hoody On 14.02.2008 @ 12:53
Elegant. Nothing really to add.Comment Posted By hoody On 6.02.2008 @ 11:59
Unless Billary wins the nomination. I foresee a whole lot of expedient Republican voting simply to keep her out of office.
I myself would vote for Ghidra the Three-Headed Monster before accepting the specter of at least another four more years of a Clinton Blight House.Comment Posted By hoody On 5.02.2008 @ 18:14
Ha haha hahahaha!!!
My my. It so SOOOO SATISFYING to see this deranged loon go down in flames of her own making.Comment Posted By hoody On 7.02.2007 @ 12:24
Well, I think a point may well be made that he is being unfairly raked.
However, saying that he is such a highly productive BEARS QB is misleading. The Bears haven't had a really decent QB since McMahon took his injured butt to Philly back in the '80s. Sorry, Rick, but it's true. Grossman may be unfairly maligned. Time will tell on that. BUt he is in no way a quality QB right now, and comparing him positively to other Bear QBs is just damning with faint praise.Comment Posted By hoody On 13.01.2007 @ 23:03
