PROVEN: CONSERVATIVES ARE SEX PERVERTS

Lets be generous and say more than 20.

Does the Right's reaction to one Cindy Sheehan ring a bell? Kooks become the voice of the opposition in efforts to marginalize or demonize opponents. Move along, nothing new to see here.

MUSINGS ON A LATE SPRING AFTERNOON

Our great experiment has survived many external threats before and will survive the terrorist threat as well. We have endured very bad Presidents (Carter, Hoover, the list goes on) and we will survive Bush and whatever boob the Democrats elect in 2008.

Rick, blogging has forced you to look at a lot of sick trees and you are missing the beauty of the forest. Politics is a means, not an end. Relax, take a walk, have a picnic with your lady. Life is good.

COMEY'S TALE RAISES STAKES FOR BUSH

Hey,Hallfasthero:

You are not really a nonconservative commenter here until Rick Moran slaps you silly a time or two. My first time getting nailed was quite a shock, but Rick Moran continues to be open and respectful between slapdowns ;-). Don't get your panties in a bunch, its just part of the fun. Rick Moran continues to be one of the most thoughtful and analytical conservatives writing anywhere. Don't throw that valuable voice out just because he pitches a little red meat to the righties once in a while at a commenter's expense. Your comments are usually valuable and I for one would like to see them continue in the future.

OH, FOR A COCKEYED OPTIMIST!

This discussion of GOP candidates points out a larger problem, albeit not directly. Conservatism has run its course of popularity in American politics. Conservatism will not be a driving force again until it finds a new direction, new leadership and divorces itself completely from the misbegotten Little Bush presidency. The legislative branch Republicans bear equal blame for not reigning in G.W. Bush and his Nixonian paranoia following 9/11 and fixing Daddy's boo-boo in Iraq.
The majority of Americans now do not remember the heyday of liberalism and Democrats in the 1960's and 70's. A chance to reverse current policies and governing philosophy is in order and it matters little whom the Republicans nominate for President. Conservatism will get the slapdown it so richly deserves as did liberalism in the 80's. And for the same reason-hubris, personal and ideological excesses and taking the American people for granted.

ECO-NANNIES DECRY "LARGE" FAMILIES

According to the 2000 U.S. Census, the average American household consists of 2.57 people. Not even replacement level. Of course, we can't let mere facts pollute the political agenda of the fringe left, now can we?

Why is there no Thomas Malthus Day in America? Damn Republicans.

WHAT DEMOCRATS BELIEVE

It is more striking that 43% of Republicans polled think the President either knew about 9/11 before it happened or are unsure if he had prior knowledge. When nearly half of your supporters have open doubts about whether you would commit high crimes by failing to respond to a known threat to the country, there is a serious problem. Either the polling is poorly done (and is meaningless regarding Democrats or Republicans) or moonbatty leftist criticism is the least of your problems.

LAST WORD

This is the best set of comments I have ever seen here. Rick's thoughtful honesty seemed to bring the same out in (most) others.

Andy, I would note that GWB leads the war effort, just as other Commanders-in-Chief led other wars. I don't think FDR sat by while Congress refused to fund WW II appropriately, nor did Churchill in England with his legislative branch. Of course, they didn't mislead about the threat posed by Axis powers either, nor did they point out the threat of Axis powers and then attack Finland.

DID "DAY BY DAY" JUST JUMP THE SHARK?

Wow! A Conservative who acknowledges that slavery has a long-term and current negative impact on African-Americans. I thought the party line was there are no slaves today and no slave owners so no one is owed an apology or reparations for slavery.

Rick Moran is a conservative that is not afraid to move away from right-wing PC thought when morally motivated to do so and is to be commended for it.

CHANGING TIMES DEMAND TELLING THE TRUTH IN WARTIME

Ugg. The posts you provided from some members of the left are ugly and stupid beyond all reason. The efforts in Iraq were poorly coceived and even more poorly executed, but Pat Tillman stood up when he didn't have to and he and his family are to be honored for their sacrifices and for his bravery.

If the handling of his death does not constitute a coverup, then facts are meaningless.
