Regarding Palin, get a grip, Rick.
I'm a huge Palin fan. And I think her statement on the healthcare bill was the biggest misstep I've ever seen her make. I'm afraid that it will come back to haunt her, if she ever pursues higher office.
We'll see what happens. Perhaps she will have the humility to step back and offer an explanation or modification.
Please be assured that sanity is on our side. There are some crazy Palinistas out there, no doubt. But I think they are the minority. They're just so damned excited to have a voice for their frustration. I think those that are out of power have a right to be a little angrier and crazier in order to be heard.

We'll probably get 4 more years of BO, regardless of who runs.
And that's even taking into account the bad economy. I just don't see the BO "spell" breaking before then.
Palin would give BO a good run, but probably still lose. I think Romney will be our candidate (cuz' Palin won't run), but don't see him winning more than a few states.
Sorry, that's just how I see it.

I'm a good conservative, and I ride a scooter to work whenever I can. It's a personal decision, based on my desire for energy independence, saving a few bucks on fuel, and getting out in the fresh air. It's a blast.
There are plenty of us out there like me, that will agree with your point about "good, solid, conservative alternatives to their collectivist notions of paternalism and government control".
It is the gubmint control that is unacceptable.
