Actually, I thought she did handle Letterman. Who was the one squirming and hedging, and finally sort of apologizing? Not Palin.
You choose your battles carefully -- it's ludicrous to compare a late night television jackass like Letterman to Putin or Kim Jong Il, who have bigger fish to fry than gratuitously attacking her family, or even a jackass like Obama, who's not doing such a great job himself in foreign policy, among other things. Apples and oranges.
Walking on the hot coals of the media, left and right, isn't beyond her mettle, but maybe she really did put her family ahead of other people's expectations and perceptions. It's not like the media, or even the GOP, would ever give her a fair shake.
