MAKING "SENSE" OF THE SURGE

Were you referring to Baghdad or New Orleans?

DEFINITION OF POND SCUM

Rogers is a blackmailer. He is just the sort of operative a campaign that is desperate would employ. No depths are too low and no tactic too mean.

One wonders how the MSM would react if a conservative pulled this kind of stuff.

'WHERE THERE IS A MEXICAN, THERE IS MEXICO"

Mexico, Mexico uber Alles?

I believe Mr. Calderon's claims were answered at San Jacinto. But perhaps he needs a refresher lesson. I've always thought Baja would make a great addition to the USA.

ON FOREIGN POLICY EXPERTS

Anyone who has served in an intelligence role will realize how frgile intelligence is and how relative a thing so called expertise is. Unfortunately so called experts seldom seemed to have actually lived in the lands they are expert about; served in the military; and actually been in a position to have actually used the intelligence they provide.

Commonsense is a commodity that seems to be in relatively short supply and the ability of policy makers and those who supply the policy makers ability to filter those facts which do not fit the conceptions of decision makers is frightening.

Its a shame that intelligence is required to provide a pro-con report for all intelligence with the officers being responsible for their analysis.

This doesn't happen now and it will not as long as risk taking and initiative are required. And in bureaucracies it is never about how many you get right, its about what you get wrong, hence screwed up estimates that are rarely on the mark or even close to it.

O'REILLY VERSUS HOLLYWOOD

Thirty years ago Hollywood celebrated America and its virtues in films like "How the West was Won.' Can you name a film like this in the past five years? Yeah Hollywood loves America, right.

When one looks at the lossers Hollywood churns out one cannot help but make the connection that making money and making popular films are strictly accidential. Family friendly films make far more than the filth Hollywood vomits forth but how many family films do we get for each Brokeback Mountain? Look at the junk that Hollywood turns out for the boob tube and tell me that they are intereste4d in only making money rather than pushing an agenda.

If I wanted to destroy America's image overseas the KGB could do no better than ask Hollywood to make a movie about America.

RIGHT AND LEFT MISSING THE POINT ON BEAUCHAMP

The last time I heard that 70% of the population wanted the troops home from an unpopular war was in Vietnam yet in 1972 the anti-war candidate lost in the worst defeat in American political history. So much for polls. They were as accurate then as they are today and if 70% of the population wanted the troops home they'd be home. Witness the immigration shamnesty.

The Left has little experience having never served and having no knowledge of the military so are we to be surprised they have to engage in pseudo science? Isn't that the altar they worship at?

As far as the media goes they're backbone is missing. The reason they will not serve in Iraq is that its too dangerous-ooohhhhhh how sad. But we got evidence of this when the MSM refused to publish the Allah cartoons. Its one thing to attack Christians when you know Christians are a pacific lot and quite another to incur the wraith of a group that does take offense and does something about it. But the MSM speaking truth to power-hah.

What we have seen are carefully stage managed jihaddie planted stories; outright fraud; and a MSM that must employ oddles of newsmen who have never served based on the number acounts I see citing US battleships, elite units such as PR companies, and the same military knowledge found in a crack group of Brownies (not to insult the Brownies who are much brighter than the MSM).

The bottom line is the Left will go to any level to defame and smear the American war effort. The fact that the editors could believe Scott's muck betrays their prejudices and views.

But who believes the media anyway. They enjoy a level of public esteem lower than lawyers, politicans, judges, and the stuff you step into on hot summer's day that is smelly and sticky and very unpleasant.

ESCAPING THE LEGAL AND MORAL QUAGMIRE OF GUANTANAMO

I quite agree Gitmo should be closed. It gives us the opportunity to exercise our rights under Article IV of the Geneva Convention immediately rather than have to give the jihaddies a pass to the Magic Kingdom as the Supreme Black Robbed Five of Kelo fame seems to think is required.

Let the executions begin, per the Geneva Convention.

ABLE DANGER: THE OTHER SHOE DROPS

I'll lay my money on "crazy" Weldon given the activities of Clinton and Berger. The 9-11 commission has a lot of explaining to do.

I WANT A NEW DRUG

Andolino's potty mouth is well known to anyone who reads his blog. He is the sole arbetier of what is acceptable and what is not. Anyone daring to disagree with his majesty risks the end of sacrements and exposure to his fury. Given his over the top reaction, which he does frequently depending on the issue, I'd bet you are dealing with a expert in both drug and alcohol abuse.

ROBERT OPPENHEIMER AND THE POLITICS OF THE ATOMIC BOMB

Excellent post, but there is little question that Oppenheimer was a communist.
