HOW MSNBC'S CRAIG CRAWFORD SAVED MY DAY

BTW, Rick, wasn't it last season of 24 that an ACLU-proxy organization came in and interfered with interrogation of a crucial witness, with rather catastrophic results? I don't recall the details...

Colo. Bob (Colo., is that short for "colon"? Ahh, but I wasn't mocking your name, just your bowels, mayhaps where your intellect resides): youse just tickles me silly. All one need do to yon "Coke-fiend W" spouting folk is mention one simple name: Mary Jo Kopechne.

OK, it's not such a simple name, but it sure speaks volumes about the Conscience of the Democrat Party and his silly and reckless youth.

Rick, your fisking of Crawford was truly admirable. Now, which half of your brain was tied behind your back when you were writing this? ;-)

THE CROSSING

Thanks for this historical treatment. And to think, the left is up in arms if we are not "sensitive" and respect a Ramadan cease fire in our battles against Islamofascism. Had they been in charge back then, we might still be under British rule. War is hell, and it only takes a holiday at the peril of the less vigilant.

God bless you and yours this Christmas, Rick, and have a wonderful (and word-smithing) New Year. So glad I've made your acquaintance, nearly a year ago now!

WHO LEAKED?

This leaking is driving me nuts. Rush hit the freaking ceiling on Friday over this NYT story and the book (I believe from James Risen) that is to follow from it just in time for Christmas.

I know folks in the national security business: one is in Army Intel and works at the Pentagon; the other is in Navy Intel over at NSA. Both are great friends. They have those kind of jobs that, if they told me what they really did, they'd have to kill me. Trouble is: one is a closet lib and I witnessed some seemingly (to me) inappropriate "political activism" on that person's part during Campaign 2004. It bothers me deeply, but that person is still a very close friend... makes me wonder about other closet libs in such important positions, who might just have bigger agendas. We know that the CIA is rife with Bush-haters, after all.

COUNTDOWN TO "24"

Rick, have you rented/bought the last season of "24" on DVD, and seen the prologue to this new season? I haven't been able to find the darn thing at Blockbuster yet... trying Netflix but doubt there's much hope of seeing it before the season bagins.

I have to blame you again, BTW, and your doggone "24" weekly summaries last season, for being a huge reason why I'm a blogger now. Ya know, though, you'll always be better and badder than silly ol' Jack to me! ;-)

TOP TEN MOVIE SOUNDTRACKS OF ALL TIME

Doctor Zhivago? Or too campy and saccharine? Another Jarre masterpiece IMO.

I think you're a little Williams-heavy, but dammit, he IS good, ain't he.

And I guess Howard Shore's LOTR extravaganza is going to be a bit too nouveau for you... but man, did he ever paint an audioscape of Middle Earth. It's simply stunning how he evokes a world we've never seen. That is the key, with these composers who are trying to bring viewers/listeners in to a completely different world.

PAJAMAS MEDIA

Hmmm... I'm reconsidering PJM now. Rick, you aren't the only blogger out there to have been reluctant to jump in. In fact, I don't wear pajamas -- that's what gave me pause at first.

Oops, a wee too much info? ;-)

CARNIVAL OF THE CLUELESS #23

Thanks Rick! As always, much fun at the carny.

Note that our contribution was written by DL, our new writer. Thought I mentioned that in submission. Could you update the author if you have time? Much appreciated! :D

CARNIVAL OF THE CLUELESS #22

Rick! I've been worried aboutchya, bud. I'm just wondering: if you mixed the OTC cold remedies in with yer grandmother's concoction, would a HazMat team be required to clean up the resultant devastating blast? I think that's how home-made plastique was invented. (The barley helps it all stick together.)

Great carny that I plan to savor from my mother in law's place later this week, as we toss off our Blue State yokels and celebrate Thanksgiving in the KS Red-State Heartland. Be well my friend!

REPUBLICAN NERVOUS NELLIES

So this is just what we wanted: more signs of devolution of the Senate GOP toward invertebrate status, just when they're to be girding for Armageddon as regards the Alito confirmation.
