I LOOK PRETTY GOOD WITH A GUN IN MY HAND...

Rick, you're right up there among giants, proud to be a groupie. You'll always be the most Jack to me. :D

Chloe contest, LOL, you said it! PERFECT. How one measures affect (or lack thereof) in the b'sphere is beyond me... tact, that's easier.

Question is: will she get a kill count this season.

CARNIVAL OF THE CLUELESS #30

Great carny as always, Ricardo. (Wha, did Kender pouch out his lower lip as he does so well? Heh)

BTW, DL wrote that Kinsley fisking, did I mention that? [think I did :D ] This is becoming a running joke, ain't it? Or, are you rubbing it in that I never write any of our carny submissions anymore? I never freakin' have time to write anything anymore on my own freakin' blog. Anything good, that is. I think I'm gonna just freakin' roll up my towel and throw in my keyboard, for all the freakin' writin' I can do anymore. And you, mocking me as well. Thanks a lot, Rick. :-P

If in a month I've actually hired additional help at work, then, why, I'll be like this again:

*type* *type* *type*

and you and the rest of the freakin' b'sphere won't be able to make fun of me anymore for not writing on my own freakin' blog.

/RANT

:D

OF LIFE, LOVE, AND TERRORISM

I rather liked the red shirts. Spiff.

You nailed it Rick. Biggest irritation for me and wifey was indeed the woefully inept security inside CTU. Um... don't they have surveillance cameras inside the mainframe room? Could it be too expensive to, oh idunno, spring for a few CCDs to oversee the electronic brains of the place?

It seems that so many moles and such are being flushed out early in this season, a different tack than previous seasons. It can only bode well for even more "things are not as they seem" intrigue to come.

CAN DARTH VADER CONQUER THE EWOKS?

Ya know, I never did like the Ewoks. Now I know why.

Somebody sure had fun writing and researching this.

"...PROMISES TO KEEP AND MILES TO GO BEFORE I SLEEP"

Good point, Penelope, especially the second one. In fact, it could be argued (on the other hand) that Jack certainly can give his word and then break it - as he did with the gunman in the refinery, saying he'd get him to medical care if he talked.

If that was one of the coldest killings Jack had done in the history of 24, it surely was prudent. Yet, he did give that crook his word. Which means, his word is only as good as the person to whom he profers it -- in keeping with the Jack Moral Compass.

THIS TIME, IT'S PERSONAL

WOO HOO! Actually get to watch these in realtime for a few weeks, as wifie doesn't teach evening class until Feb.

Jack's whacking of the triggerman to me looked like 25% expediency -- yearight, like he was going to get him to a hospital -- and 75% revenge. Yea, unsettling to see the cold-blooded thing, but well deserved.

Spencer as the mole... now that you mention it, yea, but he sure seems too obvious given your summary of the evidence. Would expect a bit more from the writers.

Do we have an accurate body count from the airport yet? I thought there were some downed security guards... maybe that's what you counted, Rick.

PLAYOFF PREVIEW: MY BELOVEDS VS. CAROLINA

Sorry Rick... all I saw the last, frustrating, quarter. At least you can divert your frustration into 24 in a few minutes...

DEAD MAN WALKING

Oops, I stand corrected, my sources tell me that the action does NOT start from where it left off. No spoilers, but he's caught some Zs.

Rick, I'm quite concerned for Jack, as I think we all should be. For if, as I suspect, the show starts off basically from where it ended last year, then Jack has not had a wink of sleep in OVER 24 hrs (he had been up - er, awake - for at least a half hour in episode one last season).

If this is so, are we going to see some lapses in judgment as the next day progresses, as sleeplessness grinds on him even as the stresses of being a fugitive AND trying to save the US from utter calamity build?

Oh wait, I forgot to put my suspenders of disbelief on today. There, all better.

Jack's da man.

THE POLITICS OF PERSONAL DECONSTRUCTION

The image of Martha Alito weeping should be the one seared into the minds of the American public come November. (Naturally, Wa Times put it on its front page; WaPo didn't).

Wonderfully put, Rick -- how you were able to so beautifully describe such an ugly fixture as the Senate Democrat Personal Destruction Machine is a testament to your amazing way with words.
