Obama has gone into specific policy details; as Jake mentioned, the policies are outlined in great depth on his website. The meme that "Obama never says anything specific" is just a made-up media creation, the modern successor to "Gore said he invented the Internet," spread by people who choose to repeat what they're told rather than looking into the matter for themselves.
Hillary Clinton, as well as all of the Republican candidates, were pretty "specific" when they supported the Iraq War. Nobody who supported the Iraq War is fit for public office. Obama's better judgment is one of the best reasons he deserves our trust, and why he will get my vote.

In all seriousness, as a liberal Democrat I was always perplexed why the Repubs. didn't come together around Thompson. I obviously didn't like him as a candidate, but he seemed to have everything Republicans claimed to like. He was the only candidate who didn't have some instant disqualifying feature that pissed off a slice of the base.

Michelle Malkin unleashed her flying monkeys on a college administrator for some petty political crusade or another and drove the poor woman to commit SUICIDE. Malkin has never apologized. MRK hit the nail on the head. All that has changed is a single data point, and by about one one-hundredth of a degree at that; the trends have not changed, other evidentiary sources such as global glacial retreat patterns and temperature-sensitive wildlife migrations haven't changed.
Sadly, what also hasn't changed is the 9/11Truther-ish huge global conspiracy attitude of the deniers. Real environmental "hysteria" and "alarmism" comes from the people who say that every new environmental law will destroy capitalism and send us back to living in caves.

GREENER PASTURES FOR LIEBERMAN?
When you say Joe Lieberman is "generous to his foes," I assume you mean he's generous in regularly handing out big servings of "anyone who opposes the Iraq war is siding with the terrorists."
Lieberman has no values other than his own ego. He will never switch parties, because if he did people would stop paying attention to him. Hopefully in '08 the Dems will pick up enough Senate seats that everybody can go back to happily ignoring this Palpatine-wannabe.

It's funny... I'm a lifelong lefty and no one I know had ever even heard of Ward Churchill, and once he was exposed nobody defended him, and you never hear of him now. Yet Cruella Coulter not only has a permanent platform on Fox News, she also evidently has her own fan club on the Right, for whom there is no depth too low to stoop in the cause of smearing and demonizing liberals.
She's a fine one to talk about the widows "enjoying their husbands' deaths." 9/11 was probably the happiest day of Coulter's life. A bunch of New York liberals, minorities, and Clinton-voters died. Exactly what she always wanted--remember "if only Tim McVeigh had bombed New York"? Remember "if you must talk to a liberal, do it with a baseball bat"? Why wouldn't she cheer on 9/11? What, you actually think she's human? She's no better than Fred Phelps.
