LEOPOLD'S LATEST LACKS LOQUACITY

I have no issue with Fitzgerald; he is only doing his job. As a former/current Democrat, I know what Donkey time is. It is similar to what meeting someone at 10:00 am means. That person may appear between 11:30 am and 2:00 pm. Only difference with donkey time is that it is due from drinking bong water. I haven't drank the elixar of progressiveness, but I have friends who have.

MY OBLIGATORY RESPONSE TO THE PRESIDENT'S IMMIGRATION SPEECH

Beth:

Thank you for clarifying. I do agree that Obrador will cause major problems for the United States. I am not so much worried about him allowing terrorists enter into the US as I am worried about him trying to start a revolution. With all the talk of "Reconquista" already floating around, it will be just a matter of time when members of the Communist Latin Community in California show their faces on a grand scale. One problem with socialism is that it only kindof works in nations of educated people. The reason why is that with the government controlling everything; there is a greater chance for mischief. Many anti-liberals (left-wingers) claim that socialism does work, because it works in Norway. Norway receives a lot money from oil. It also has a very, very, strict immigration policy. If oil is deemed obselete, that nation is SOL, no more progressive socialist paradise. Good old Chavez has ruined Venezuela's oil industry already. I have an issue with many people on the US left supporting Chavez. Hugo openly supports Iran, Syria, and Libya. He was the only foreign leader of note to visit Iraq while Saddam was in power. He has had advisors who have denyed the existence of the Holocaust and blasts the "Jewish Financial Institutions"(Norberto Ceresole). The Jewish community has experienced persecution in Venezuela. The Jewish population has been cut in about half since Chavez has been in power. Many progressives still view him as a hero because he is in opposition to Bush. I guess in their eyes anyone really is better than Bush, even if the leader believes in National Socialism and hates Jews.

For legal immigrants, it can take many years to enter the
US. Illegal aliens want to enter the US now. Based on current immigration law, these aliens would not be allowed in legally.

Tano,

Even though Rick says your first post on this thread as idiocy, you make good points. I am glad you didn't start off flinging insults. I have to agree with Rick on a couple points. The issue is assimilation. I hear people touting the "Scandanavian Utopians" as the liberal ideals, but how many of those so called European nations have an immigration policy anywhere near as liberal (both definitions) as ours? There is a reason why they don't let anyone that wants to come enter the US. Another issue is that it is hypocritical to those who want to enter the US through legal channels. My father came from India legally in 1969(yes that makes me brown). He had to be one of the best in his industry to even have chance to come to America. I admit many ignorant right-wingers stamp their feet and scream, "Dey took r jerbs!!!!!", but it isn't just white people that are against illegal immigrants. As horrible as it sounds but many inner city African Americans hate the idea that Mexicans can come in and do the same job for less. While it is true capitalists like myself do believe that we need the cheap labor, we also realize they are breaking the law. On this issue, it is hard to make everyone happy. Many do not realize this but people sometimes misuse the term capitalism. Not all Republicans are capitalists. Many of them are actually merchantilists. They have to follow that economic philosophy if they want to be re-elected. One example is the tariff that Republicans placed on cheaper foreign steel. It was designed to protect industry not overrall commerce. Ironically, Bush wants to institute a guest worker program. It is capitalist in nature, but at the same time he stole a page from the French. It appears to you that there is less sanity on the right because it would go against your principles if they appeared reasonable. Both political extremes tend to find flaws quicker on the other side. Irrationality and absurdity is a multipartisan issue. For instance look what Howard Dean said at the CBN. Gay and Lesbian Democrat supporters said it wasn't the first time he made that "slip up". Is he stupid? No, he was pandering to garner more votes. That is where the absurdity exists.

Beth,

Those 19 people that killed 3000 didn't cross the Mexican border.

PLEASE ADJUST YOUR TINFOIL HATS BEFORE BOARDING....

Sad B. Wiser:

Moran said that the conspiracy theorists come from both sides of the political spectrum.

Since my post did not appear the first time around. I will give my two cents on the Zapruder film and the movie JFK. While Stone may have gone overboard with his conspiracy theories, it is hard to watch the Zapruder film and conclude there was only one gunman. Based on physics alone shots must have been taken from more than one angle. Does this mean a shadow conspiracy? No, not necessarily. It could just mean that Oswald had to two buddies. What gets me is that it took so long for the Zapruder film to be released. I also want to know why Warren commission didn't even look at the physics of the bullets. I am not going to run around like Al Gore and scream "Manbear Pig", but I do find some things unsettling.

WHO SAYS THE DEMOCRATS DON'T HAVE ANY NEW IDEAS?

Hey Rick,

Just remember there were white slaves (ie indentured servants). Do they get money? If we are going to do reperations we need to do it correctly. First known story of slavery was when the Jewish people were the slaves of Egypt. I think Egypt and those who claim their descendancy should pay the Jewish people a certain amount of money. After that Greece, should pay all the nationalities that were conquered and enslaved. Or course it would involve giving reperations to other Greek people. After that, those of Italian descent will have pay up for all the transgressions of the Roman Empire. Of course also the Germans for whatever happened during the Holy Roman Empire. Then British, the Moghuls, the Ottoman's......

You know what I think in the long run everyone has to pay everyone else.

Anyway back to real issues. I want to support the Democrats, but they act like they drink pint of bong water everyday.

TAKE OFF THE 9/11 TINFOIL HATS

Rick,

I am going to put my tin hat/special ed helmet on for one second. There are many theories about 9/11 that haven't be discussed. I have two. I am not sure if anyone else came up with them, but they are really strange and crazy. Here goes....

tin hat on.......

There are many groups that would have profitted from 9/11 more than the Republicans. Here is the first example.

As of 2001, the Euro was considerably weaker than the dollar. As a new curreny that desired to be a backing of many smaller nation's currencies, the EU had to determine a way to weaken competition. The largest competitor clearly was the United States. When the Euro first came out, it was about .85 Euros to a dollar. At the end of 2000, it was about 1.25 Euros to the dollar. To combat this various EU intelligence community members worked with Bin Laden to facillitate this plan. I am sure if you look at the records many of the hijackers spent time in Europe. Ever since 9/11, the US dollar has been weaker compared to the Euro. In fact, it is now .77 Euros to a dollar.

Conspiracy Theory #2, the Democrats since their defeat in 2000 were planning for revenge. With the idea in their minds that Bush is weak and incompetant leader, they hatch a diabolical plan to undermine him and make him look like bad leader. The first step was have Hillary Clinton to move to New York. While there she will contact those Democratic party members that aided in the assassination of Kennedy. With their aid, they helped the hijackers bypass security without any issues.

Tin foil hat off........

The first theory is flawed. A weaker Euro is in fact better for commerce. Considering that the US is the world's largest consumer, anything that makes European goods appear more expensive would be harmful to European commerce. Of course, I could say that since many of nations that are involved are socialist in nature they would not understand such things. Things would simply go in circles when arguing such an absurd claim.

I realize the second conspiracy theory is completely insane, but I can make the claim that since no one can disprove me there is a chance that is what happenned.

Stephen Prince you know why we can not put Bin Laden on trial. That is an act similar to the UN. How many resolutions have they enacted without being followed? How many did Iraq, Iran, and Israel actually follow? All a trial would do is make us wag our fingers at him. We would sound like Bapu from Seinfeld. We would stand there wag our fingers and say, "Bin Laden, you are a very, very, bad man."

VENGENCE IS THE LORDS: JUSTICE IS OURS IN MOUSSAOUI CASE

Brainster,

I think the jurors strayed away from the death penalty for one reason. Moussaoui will be a martyr if he is executed. If you stick him in a prison by himself, that is a far greater punishment.

STRONG WEEKDAY SHOWING FOR U-93 (UPDATED 5/4)

Rick,

Yeah, I Che is dead, but he lives on as a marketing tool. I have seen one too many Hollywood personalities wearing Che gear. In fact, when I was young and liberal I owned a Rage Against the Machine "Che" shirt. I just think it is ironic. I just wonder why they aren't any Ayatollah Khomeni shirts around. Hell, why not a Chairman Mao t-shirt. They embodied the "rebellious" spirit as well.

Rick,

It makes perfect sense. Big Blockbusters like MI:3 will sell out in the first weekend. This will leave people who wanted to see MI:3 and who didn't get a ticket an oppurtunity to see another movie. That was the case with Star Wars Episode III.

Speaking of movies. Rick, here is a question for you. What would Che Guevara think when the movie "Guerilla" comes out? Will he be so upset that people are trying to pirate his movie that he will execute them without trial? Or will he celebrate their attack on this capitalist venture?
