THE TOTAL WITLESSNESS OF OBAMA APOLOGISTS

'Swiftboating' means 'telling the undisputed truth about some one.'
The left tries to pretend it means that some one is telling an untruth but the fact is Kerry never disproved any of the Swift Vet stories. He lcaimed he did but there is no record of it happening anywhere. The Vets wanted to meet with Kerry and debate it but he refused and he continues to refuse to sign his 180 to release his records. Bush released his but not Kerry. Oh he released pieces of his record but he did not release it all like Bush did. And that is because the Swift Boat Vets always were telling the truth. Why do you think the left shuns Kerry today? He never dealt with the swift vets.

WHAT IS THIS FEEDING FRENZY OVER HILLARY'S SCHEDULE?

The grammar Nazi would respectfully like to remind you to say "to us Americans," not "to we Americans."

Thanks Steve.

RETHINKING "THE SPEECH"

The speech was simply designed to change the subject of Obama's racist pastor to a history of racisim. It's the same old race hustling crap that Jackson and Sharpton make their living doing, that whites will really always be racist deep down inside, and blacks are incapable of racism.

Why is it that when a black pastor goes flaming racist and whites call him on it, that whites get the lecture about racism?

My favorite part was being called a "typical white person" who if afraid of a stranger approaching them on the street. Is he saying that little old black ladies are not afraid of some white thugs heading their way?

Obama, go lecture your pastor, the rest of us love America.

IS CAPITALISM AND THE CONSERVATIVE RATIONALE FOR IT DEAD?

Greater transparency is the answer, not regulation. Compel all financial institutions to make a full daily disclosure of all debts and assets. Publicly release each disclosure 21 days later, so some level of confidentiality is maintained. Mark assets to market only where markets actually exist. Mark as "unknown value" any assets that have no public market. This system would give analysts the chance to understand a bank's portfolio on a short term, evolving basis. The current system forces analysts to plow through an avalanche of quarterly data, and then wait three months for another avalanche. The same transparency would work for non-financial companies as well. Have them report daily revenue, expenditure, cash, debt, accounts payable and receivable and 30 days overdue. Again, release all the numbers 21 days later. I can't help but believe that a daily system like this would have highlighted the disintegration at Enron and WorldCom months before they collapsed.

DOES OBAMA LOVE AMERICA?

I think your premise is somewhat flawed here, Rick. Love of America is different than national pride in any other nation on earth, because of our unique history. Love of America is not about not committing treason, or selling out to foreigners. It is not about loving the territory or the government. Love for America is about embracing the almost metaphysical set of ideals laid out by the founders in the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. It is about the love of liberty, faith in the individual, a healthy distrust of government, among others.

There is no doubt that America has fallen short of, and continues to fall short of her founding ideals. The question to be asked of Barack Obama is: Does he embrace and believe in those American ideals even though America fails to perfectly meet them, or like most of the liberal left, does he believe that America's failure to fully live up to her ideals invalidates them? Would he strive to make America more perfectly aligned with her ideals, or would he try to move away from them in the name of 'fairness?'

In a nutshell, that is the existential threat that the left poses to America, and it has little to do with race. Race is simply a smokescreen and a tool used by the left. Read Martin Luther King, Jr. He wanted, as I believe the vast majority of Americans do today, blacks to fully inherit their birthright as Americans, to live in liberty and freedom, and have the opportunity to rise and fall on their own merits. So whether the questions are over race, or sex, or class does not matter. They are simply a tactic to divide and declare American ideals a failure, and justify the creation of a new social order of 'fairness and equality.'

Does it matter if Barack Obama loves America? Perhaps not in the way you have couched the question. Unfortunately, I think you have fallen into a liberal frame for the question and the debate. In the end, he is a radical socialist and a statist, and by definition he does not love America in the terms I have expressed. I didn't need to hear his Preacher damning the nation to figure that out.

STILL AT RISK: THE SHOCKING IGNORANCE OF OUR YOUNG

Mr.Moran, please continue to write on this subject. We can not expect a socialist education system to generate a quality product because it robs incentive just as it does economically. We have adopted a policy of equality thru mediocrity, and we will all pay the price!Check out the sad statistics at www.americancivicliteracy.org. Freedom dies and socialism thrives when ignorance prevails! As an old paratrooper and as a school board member it makes me sick to see the path ahead.

ENOUGH WITH ALL OF THIS "OBAMA IS A MOOSLIM" CRAP

I agree with you, Rick. No self-respecting Marxist believes in God, so how could Barak be a Muslim? However, I do believe he sympathizes with many radical Islamist views in regard to Israel, the U.S., and the West in general. He would be a dangerous man to elect President of the United States. His reported support of Odinga in Kenya is telling, and chilling.

You are also right that he is more calculating than that for which most have given him credit. My question is just exactly what is he calculating on doing as POTUS? At least with the Clintons it is a fairly naked Nietzschian will to power. I think the Senator from Illinois is more complicated than that.

THE TIMES CIRCLES THE WAGONS WHILE THEIR STORY UNRAVELS

Is anyone, anywhere, still surprised by the lack of ethics at the NYT? It was the home of Jason Blair, who trashed the Iraq war with invented stories, and was then promted by NYT management. Then it all came out, and they reluctantly fired him. After all, he'd been such a cash cow.

The NYT is an old, desperate, failing institution, stock falling like a rock over the last 5 years. Sensationalism is their last hope, throwing anything that they can at Conservatives in the sad hope that liberals will buy a paper to read about it. I can't figure how any rats are left on that ship.

DELEGATE MATH DOESN'T ADD UP FOR ROMNEY

McCain has a lot of explaining to do. Conservatives don't trust him and many will not vote for him. Without that vote I think he is going to lose. The GOP has chosen a candidate favored by the LAT and NYT that cannot possibly win. He will not obtain the 'Perot voters'.
This election is already lost. The only question is Hillary or Barry?
Unless McCain successfully reaches out to conservatives. I don't think he can without that deep disdain that cannot be hidden.
I hope he will surprise me. It baffles me that the RNC has decided to lose up front by choosing such a god-awful loser for the Nominee.
