W.A.R. IS COMING

Even if the worst happens, and you end up with a few moments of dead air --- it will STILL be more interesting than Al Franken(stein's) monster known as Air America. Good luck with the W.A.R.!

CHICAGO: THE ONLY NUCLEAR, SMOKING, AND FOIE GRAS FREE ZONE IN AMERICA

Say, isn't Fred Thompson a former Republican senator from Tennessee who won Al Gore's seat, and now plays the D.A. in Law & Order? That would be wicked funny if Chicago dedicated "Fred Thompson street" and he showed up!

The Spanish Socialist Party will introduce a bill in the Congress of Deputies calling for “the immediate inclusion of (simians) in the category of persons, and that they be given the moral and legal protection that currently are only enjoyed by human beings.” The PSOE’s justification is that humans share 98.4% of our genes with chimpanzees, 97.7% with gorillas, and 96.4% with orangutans.

The party will announce its Great Ape Project at a press conference tomorrow. An organization with the same name is seeking a UN declaration on simian rights which would defend ape interests “the same as those of minors and the mentally handicapped of our species.”

In other news, The Spanish Socialist Party has elected a new General Secretary -- Dr. Zaius won in a landslide over his opponent, the chimpanzee Cornelius.

BLOGGER BURNOUT - NO TIRADES TODAY

Good choice in film viewing!

Recalling the scene at the Bridge of Khazad-DÅ«m -- just picture Russ Feingold as the Balrog. Here is to him getting his fellow dim-o-crats on the record opposed to the wire-tapping of terrorists! Instead of just falling like a lead balloon to his own doom, he is wrapping his tail around the legs of the Democrat party and will bring them down with him!

AT WAR WITH MODERNITY

*Cartoon War*

Tom Toles and Teddy Rall are the suicide bombers, "Zero" from Beetle Bailey was inspired by John Kerry's illustrious military career (he served in Vietnam, don't ya know.)

The guys in black hoods (terrorists, that is -- not the racist children from Boondocks) have Dondi at their mercy, and will cut off the poor little infidel's head unless Western Democracies stop drawing Mohammed.

But seriously, these islamobarbarians get offended if we were to imagine if Mohammed does not exists, and then go all nutty when we do imagine Mohammed exists and wonder what he might look like. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

This could well be an important moment in Western History -- do the Europeans capitulate to islamofascism, or do they choose to resist. I say "New Europe" (Poland, Latvia, Czech Republic, et al.) will stand fast and that "Old Europe" (the Paris-Berlin Axis) will kowtow to the will of the Fifth Column they have allowed to settle and take root in their countries.

THE COUNCIL HAS SPOKEN

*Spoiler alert* Plot and/or ending details follow.

I can't tell you much about "Brokeback Mountain," because I have not seen it yet.

Based on the scuttlebut, it's not a film I would pay good money to see -- I'll wait for it on HBO or Starz! or whatever. It does not sound like my kind of Western. Like "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid," I hear that the cowboys get it in the end.

THE CROSSING

Thanks for the correction, JoeH. Now I'm beginning to see why folks named Rall hate America so much.

LIBERAL DRAMA QUEENS FALL FOR ANOTHER ONE

I wonder if there would be an uproar from the MainStream Media if a young kid got sent to a "Guidance Counsellor's" office for trying to check out a copy of the Holy Bible from a public school in San Francisco. Someone call Nancy Pelosi, stat!

MY CHRISTMAS GIFT LIST

Mark:

A Merry Christmas to you as well. Here's hoping for a decent dialog in the new year.

Also, condolances to the family of actress Argentina Brunetti, who played the Italian immigrant Mrs. Martini in "It's a Wonderful Life." She died in her sleep at her home in Rome, Italy, at the age of 98 on 24 December, 2005.

Dear Mark,

You wrote: "And you know everytime a bell rings a liberal gets his wings"

This may be true, but I also notice they tend to crash-and-burn alot flying around with two left wings.
