A LONG GOODBYE

Whenever I encounter the loss of this kind, my sympathies usually include one poem I find worthy.

In respect of the fact you see an inevitable reality, I believe it can also be used to adjust to that reality

So I give you this

It takes us back to brighter years,
to happier sunlit days
and to precious moments
that will be with us always.
And these fond recollections
are treasured in the heart
to bring us always close to those
from whom we had to part.
There is a bridge of memories
from earth to Heaven above...
It keeps our dear ones near us
It's the bridge that we call love

AND SO IT BEGINS: HIZBULLAH TAKES TO THE STREETS

Well of course I may be commenting wrong here in that I don't know everyone here and jpe could be just doing a bit of tounge in cheek commentary.

In that case never mind.

Damn, too many variables.

jpe

I have a question.

Without going into the validity of positions. The crowd today in this article was in support of the non governmental faction in the country that was wishing to express removal of the elected government of a sovereign state with the expressed desire to repress it with the indirect rule of a third party state influence.

Please expand on how you consider this freedom on the march, because somehow I don't get that grasp of the situation.

Perhaps I am not as enlightened as you.

Crowd numbers pro and con to the Lebanon issue amount to a titillating you show me yours and I'll show you mine.

What is important is the motivation for the crowd to show up to begin with.

Is it a heartfelt issue oriented display or is it a manipulated go along pay for play gathering.

Therein lies the strength or the weakness.

Those with the real motivation will have the power to endure.

Right now the question is what is that balance, or imbalance depending on your viewpoint.

All else is just pretty window dressing.

SINIORA GOVERNMENT APPROVES TRIBUNAL AMID QUESTIONS OF LEGALITY

The dozen or so Lebanese bloggers linked over at Truth Laid Bare are giving good insight into the mood and the power plays and political shape shifting going on.

The mood in understandably not good.

The thing that stands out in all this situation, is you get miles of column inches of issues and insights into Lebanon involvement, Israel involvement , France, the UN and US measures but Syria is a media black hole. The only thing you get is the Iran middleman issue.

As far as the media goes Syria is a non issue. You have to work the net to realy try to get a feel for what the country is , how it is made up and what makes it tick.

It is a player here in a lot of issues on the international stage, but in depth analysis of it is like it somehow fell of the globe.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Hey Thanksgiving turned out ok here, but I did set the alarm clock to get up this morning to get things done.

Note to the big guy...the earthquake was a wake up call, but I was already up. Or at least wait till cocktail hour when we need shaken but not stirred type of action. LOL.

As is my custom, my son and I are in Maui at our vacation home and we are having a luau tomorrow with about 150 guests.

Yes we are also serving turkeys and hams for those that desire that option.

Now matter how you celebrate I wish a happy holiday to all.

THE LEBANESE PEOPLE VS. HIZBULLAH: ROUND 1 LOOMS

Just spent a lot of time reading the Lebanese blogs over at truth laid bear.

Lots of good insight into the situation as it stands and the mindset of the locals.

COULD FORDHAM BE SOURCE FOR EMAILS?

Rick

You I believe are confusing "THE LIST" with the list of people Rodgers has displayed on the left side of his website.

The ones on the website are those he has already outed and appear at different points in his blog history

The List is outings that have not occurred yet.
