THE REAL THING

Quick! Someone call the ACLU! Rick is being a big meanie by pointing out that most acts of islamofascist terrorism are carried out by muslims.

In the unlikely event the United States ends up succumbing to the global jihad, if any of us survive the fallout - figuratively or literally - we can point to a collective, patholigical obsession with political correctness as one of the "root causes" of our undoing.

A HINGE OF HISTORY

Rick,

America has seen darker days than these, and it's incumbent on all of us to maintain our faith in the ability of a free country and a free people to overcome these kinds of challenges. American leftists, if they ever had such faith, lost it long before this war began. It's up to people like us to ensure there's going to be United States for their kids to hate when they grow up.

One wonders if this isn't the reason they appear to be siding with and/or actively conspiring with enemies of the United States. Perhaps they're hedging their bets, so to speak, on the possibilty that America will be playing second fiddle on the world stage to a union of islamofascist states when this war ends.

FAIR IS FAIR: IDF BRINGS SHAME TO ITSELF

Rick,

Gotta say I'm disappointed in your analysis. Any prisoners the muzzies take are kept alive only as long as they meet the demands of enemy propaganda. After they've served their purpose, they're dead.

The CP has informed his brother - who is scheduled to deploy to the sandbox next month - to keep a grenade handy at all times. And in the event he's taken prisoner, pull the pin and take out as many of the enemy as possible.

BUSH & ISRAEL: SHOULDER TO SHOULDER, HIP TO HIP

Rick,

I still maintain that the American leftists are not anti-Semitic per se. They reflexively oppose whatever Israel does because they view American (ironically) and Israeli Jews as allies of the President. If their speech and actions may be construed as anti-Semitic, then it's a bigotry based on a profound, ideologically motivated hatred of Bush. One wonders who will become the object of that antipathy when his successor takes the oath...

Anyway, I hope you'll excuse me for taking the liberty of using a non-word to describe the phenomenon of leftist reactionaries actively opposing Israel's right to defend itself: neo-nihilism. The next time the United States comes under attack, we can expect these people to express similar sentiments regarding proportional responses, initiating diplomacy with terrorists, etc.

ANTI-SEMITISM ON THE LEFT

"One can only hope that the left in America once again will face the “right way” and come home to its original lofty and noble support for one of its truly decent impulses of the 20th century – giving a battered and oppressed people a place that they could call home and where the words “Never Again” would have real as well as symbolic meaning."

They will when another Bill Clinton gets elected. You see, what appears to be virulently anti-Semitic rhetoric bubbling up from the depths of the POS - excuse me, KOS - fever swamp is really just another vehicle for expressing hatred of the Bush administration. When the American left sees American and Israeli Jews agreeing with the current administration's policies, they reflexively express opposition. It's no different than jumping when someone shouts "Boo!" or throwing your television through the living room window when you inadvertently catch CNN's war bitch, Christiane Amanpour, while channel surfing.

This is probably the most cynical response you're likley to get on this piece, Rick. The American left will support Israel when another Democrat occupies the oval office.

PLEASE ELIMINATE THE WORD "ELIMINATIONIST"...AND THOSE WHO USE THE TERM

Rick,

Post-modern, neo-nihilist liberals hijacking the English language to villify their enemies and reinforce their spurious claims to victimhood is by no stretch of the imagination a novel tactic.

Given their success playing these kind of rhetorical tricks in the course of public debate, I'm guessing they'll manage to convince a cross-section of the American public that controls must be placed on the words and thoughts of people like us.

Should they return to power, be sure to reserve your bunk, bar code tattoo and pet wolverine in one of their "reeducation" camps in the UP.

OK, ignore the last sentence...just paranoid musings informed by my reading of what has happened elsewhere in the world at different points in time.

IT'S BACK! THE CARNIVAL OF THE CLUELESS REBORN!

Here you go, Rick:

It's a bit stale, but I've been a bit preoccupied since the Puppy Pundit arrived last week and haven't been blogging as frequently. Not a bad bit of satire, but certainly not the best, either.

LET'S TORCH THE FLAG BURNING AMENDMENT

Rick,

I don't agree with the notion of amending the constitution to prohibit flag-burning, but let's examine the mentality that underpins these kinds of initiatives.

We live in a country where people can be prosecuted for not only committing crimes, but what goes on inside their heads when they do. I'd bet good money that if someone decided to protest illegal immigration by burning the Mexican flag, someone (ACLU) would demand they be prosecuted for committing a hate crime.

It all goes back to the header motto on my site - all animals are equal, yada yada yada.

But it's probably not that complicated - advocates of this amendment are probably just pandering.

BEYOND THE PALE

Rick,

You correctly pointed out that the Times has seen its way clear to take the law into its own hands. Would you agree that refusing to do anything about it will only make this animal hungrier?

Eventually, these people are going to publish classified information and Americans will be killed as a result. When that happens, may God have mercy on them, because Americans won't.

DEMOCRATS GO OUT WITH A WHIMPER ON IRAQ

Does this mean that every Senator who voted against this proposal is no longer allowed to use the words quagmire, hopeless, mistake, etc., when referring to the war in Iraq?

If the self-appointed guardians of democracy in the press were doing their jobs, the answer to that questions would be yes. But since we know that these spineless opportunists in the Senate will continue receiving a pass as try to play both sides of the street, I guess it's up to you to keep fighting the good fight.
